Step back in time and enjoy a slice of Arrowtown’s rich heritage. The carefully preserved historic cottage, once home to the town’s postmasters, has been a main street feature since the 1860s and is now a popular restaurant surrounded by beautiful gardens. Enjoy the beauty of each season at Postmasters, whether it's soaking up the sun whilst sitting out on the verandah with a refreshing drink or inside by the open fires with a homemade mulled wine in the colder months. The seasonal menu features fresh flavours, top quality local produce, and Central Otago wines which showcase the best of this famous wine-making region.  Plenty of gluten-free and vegetarian options available as well as a dedicated kids’ menu.Open daily for breakfast, morning & afternoon tea, lunch and dinner.

Lovely lunch in a lovely town

A charming building inside and out. Very elegant dining room and quality staff. Lunch was very good - the home-made bread outstanding.

A beautiful little place to sit relax and watch the world go by. We enjoy tea and scones on this visit however I would definitely return for lunch or dinner next time.

The building is just wonderful. Despite being here in "summer" it was pouring rain in the evening and the restaurant offered a great sanctuary to escape. The whole place had a really lovely feel about it and the food was just lovely. Would definitely recommend. It was a wonderful place, with great food, and excellent service.

Had dinner here with family, children served first which is always a good idea. The service was excellent. Inside the actual restaurant was lovely, they had tried to keep the building as authentic as possible. The menu and wine list was extensive, had the venison cooked to perfection. All tables were occupied which is a good sign, would gladly recommend... More

inviting and friendly staff serving fresh tasty food. Nothing too much trouble, we had new baby with our group which was no problem whatsoever. Real fires, toasty warm on our visit...white over with snow.

We had a great meal here our second night in Arrowtown. The new manager did a great job of taking care of us and I also would recommend his wine tasting company that will take you to various local wineries. Excellent service and the mussels were delicious.

We called in for a mid-afternoon refreshment during a visit to Arrowtown. This cafe occupies a delightful historical cottage with a beautiful verandah enabling outdoor dining. One side of the cottage has a pleasant cobbled courtyard with an old English garden providing a most attractive outlook. The staff were courteous and attentive. We enjoyed our flat whites made with Humming... More
