Step back in time and enjoy a slice of Arrowtown’s rich heritage. The carefully preserved historic cottage, once home to the town’s postmasters, has been a main street feature since the 1860s and is now a popular restaurant surrounded by beautiful gardens. Enjoy the beauty of each season at Postmasters, whether it's soaking up the sun whilst sitting out on the verandah with a refreshing drink or inside by the open fires with a homemade mulled wine in the colder months. The seasonal menu features fresh flavours, top quality local produce, and Central Otago wines which showcase the best of this famous wine-making region.  Plenty of gluten-free and vegetarian options available as well as a dedicated kids’ menu.Open daily for breakfast, morning & afternoon tea, lunch and dinner.

Very impressed

Arrowtown is lovely and this restaurant sits in a historic building on the main street. We were a group of four including two locals, who hadn't eaten there in a while, but have said that it will be top of their list in future. The restaurant had experienced a late rush of trade, but coped well and... read more

We had a leisurely early dinner at the Postmaster. It was a warm sunny day and they sat us on the verandah, which is shady and sheltered and looks out on the main street. We enjoyed the food, which was well-prepared and nicely presented. For the main course I had venison and my wife had lamb. Both came with some... More

Bit brash but friendly service. Veggie korma was very dry, don't expect any korma sauce. Cheese puffs stodgy not as advertised "light and fluffy". Wouldn't recommend

We were looking for a quiet spot for dinner, we gave this one a try. There are a few choices In Arrowtown. The venison with smoked mashed and parsnips was lovely. Vegetable korma was also good. Outdoor patio dining on a sunny evening surrounded by roses and lavender was delightful as was the staff.

Having read the reviews, we thought we couldn't go wrong. Sadly we did. Bacon in most of the world is served cooked and mostly crispy, this was neither and we requested that all four breakfasts have the bacon cooked further. We were told by the waitress that we "hadn't asked for crispy" A new one on us, bearing in mind... More

This is a great place. Pricey but worth it. The sort of special occasion dining we all deserve to enjoy sometimes.

We loved it here. The staff were great and friendly. We ordered a platter board which was fantastic and wine to go with it. We sat outside over looking the crossroads which was perfect for people watching. Definitely go back.
