Very good food. Was very impressed. The wait staff were disorentated and confused. Friend didn't get ID ordering an alcoholic drink but we did ordering a lemonade?? Bizarre. Need to learn the law.. Anyways. Food good. Very loud kids crying but thats not anyone else fault.

They were having some sort of issues with the open fires. I noticed the smell when we went in but thought it was just if you sat near the fire. The place kept filling with strong smelling smoke. Had the roast beef, the meat was dry and chewy and vegetables were average. Clothes and hair stunk of smoke when we... More

We dropped in to watch the rugby. Upstairs was crowded, but downstairs we found a table near fire to watch the rugby final (damn you highlanders).

Awesome atmosphere, especially when the Highlanders play in the Super Rugby final. Also very good food and great beers on tap. A bit pricey as everything in Arrowtown is. Worth a visit.

Great atmosphere and food, and of course a lovely part of the South Island. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the area.

We dropped in for a drink while on a half day tour. Loved sitting in front of the warm fire having a cold beer. For it's location amongst so many great wineries, we found the wine list was suprisingly limited. We didn't eat in, however the menu looked pretty good and reasonably priced.

When the snow is falling outside, there's a roaring fire inside. Perfect for a burger and chips for lunch. Great atmosphere in a fairly traditional Kiwi pub, in a non traditional kiwi setting.

My son kept telling me how great the roast dinners were and he was right! Reasonably priced (about $20). My hubby had the fish and chips but was very disappointed as the fish was overcooked (slightly burnt batter!) and not very tasty. My pork roast on the other hand was divine! Lots of veges on the side including gravy and... More

Quick pit stop during to stretch the legs during a family weekend visit. Arrowtown is idyllic, wonderful ambience and friendly smiles wherever you look. This boozer has got the lot:- views of the river, great log fire, good looking variety menu, strong list of beers and wines, very child friendly, and Mum and Dad able to relax (even managed throw... These babies were delicious! Same with the Alaskan Crab legs. Whitebait fritters were average. These should be done in a little egg and full of whitebait, and there should at least be 3 fritters. Forget about the white bread!
