Relax by the open fire

This is a nice hotel / restaurant located about half way along the main street. It has a lot of ambiance , an open fire and plenty of seating. The service was friendly but very slow, especially considering there were only 3 other guests there at the time. The fare is typical pub food , good but... read more

Best roast lamb ever! We read the reviews about this place and were dubious about eating here but decided to give it a go anyway. We ordered the roast lamb and it was the best meal ever! The staff were friendly, the food arrived to our table quite quickly and the meal was huge. Great food and service!!! A must... More

The place looked busy so we thought it must be good! How wrong we were! The burger was blander than a beige outfit and the Asian mushrooms were slimier than a pile of slugs. And then the smoke came as the fire produced smoke and not flames. The bar tender apologised but to compensate she opened the doors and left... More

a really nice pub in a gorgeous little town. The food & service was quite good & prices were good. We found it pretty amusing tho that the barmaid didn't know what port was LOL

The New Orleans hotel is a great place for lunch or dinner. They have a great midday snack deal tea/coffee and a muffin for the price of the drink! The portions are a good size, larger than average. Two continuously filled fireplaces keep the main dining room warm. There is a game room off to one side. There are couches... More

I visited New Orleans early last week with a few friends for lite snack and drink on a Wednesday night. We were greated by a horrendous bar lady with the worst attitude I have ever come across. Long blonde hair and I'm sure she was German. Some of us had food which was terrible and couldn't even be ate after... More

Great service, craft beer, mulled wine, pool table and comfy accommodation. Stayed here for a night and had drinks, really great old gold mining town bar/accomm venue.

First thing we noticed was how smokey it was in the restaurant but it was really cold in there. Food was very very average but expensive for the offering. I had a burger which was just that, a burger, no chips, no condiments, nothing. Staff seemed to be totally uninterested. Would not go back.

They were having some sort of issues with the open fires. I noticed the smell when we went in but thought it was just if you sat near the fire. The place kept filling with strong smelling smoke. Had the roast beef, the meat was dry and chewy and vegetables were average. Clothes and hair stunk of smoke when we... More

Very good food. Was very impressed. The wait staff were disorentated and confused. Friend didn't get ID ordering an alcoholic drink but we did ordering a lemonade?? Bizarre. Need to learn the law.. Anyways. Food good. Very loud kids crying but thats not anyone else fault.
