They should stick to being an Irish pub and maybe they could do that well. The food took ages to come and the Chinese was unbelievably bad - seriously, broccoli and mushroom looked like a tin of each had been put on a plate and warmed in the microwave. It was inedible. The staff were too busy sitting around and... More

A recent lunch here was a mixed experience. Great pub decor, outdoor seating area etc. But service that took kiwi casual just too far. These folks need to do more for the prices they charge. Having said that, a glass of house white, and a generous whitebait pattie meal is absolutely sublime. Train the waiting staff better and lunch could... More

Atmosphere good, food generous but average. Title of hotel drew me in but music average, food Chinese and usual pub fare and cricket on the TV and they had run out of Guinness !

W stopped in for Elevenses. Had egg and bacon on toast, their Big Breakfast special, $10 each. The food was good, the coffee was great, and this old hotel/pub is super clean and friendly. I'd definitely try it again. Order at the bar; they bring it out to the table

Arrowtown is a quaint little town near Queenstown and certainly worth visiting and a bit quieter and more relaxed than the busy and youthful Queenstown itself. The service was OK although I got the impression that the lady was none-to-impressed that I didn't order any sides with my burger. It was odd if she thought I was being a bit... More

We went there for lunch today after seeing the Chinese specials on offer. The food was pretty filthy, particularly the chicken and chilli that seemed to be made from the lowest grade bits of meat that had come to hand, and the service was poor - not in terms of speed / efficiency but the complete lack of interest shown... The Hotel is in a picturesque setting in the heart of Arrowtown. We went there for an evening meal. The usual arrangement to first choose a Table and then go to the Bar to order and pay for the meal. The Bar Restaurant is well furnished and in good decorative order. Having taken our Order it took another one and... More

An iconic hotel/ pub with great food and lovely atmosphere . Loved it .. The fire was on one of the days we stopped for a meal and it made the whole experience ten times better.

Chinese menu on special, pictures looked inviting, reality less so!! Food was perfectly good, just not a lot of it. Obviously took a leaf out of McDonald's marketing book regarding the photo's. Guinness on tap always appreciated, friends said steak was good and service was good too
