Description: Dine under the stars in the tranquil surroundings of Katherine Museum...
Dine under the stars in the tranquil surroundings of Katherine Museum. Watch the wallabies and hear the local wildlife in the surroundings reminiscent of an outback stockman's camp. In this wonderful atmosphere (no bugs!) enjoy your camp oven meal by the camp fire. Be entertained by great aussie humour; true and not so true yarns; the good, the bad & some a little bawdy. Kids are not left out - we are famous for our "damper on a stick" (the bush ice-cream), our billy spinning competition and our scavenger hunt.

Marksie makes the night. He is very interesting and entertaining and takes the time to chat with his guests. He is very passionate about his food and explains all the items on offer. It's an opportunity to try some different meat like croc, camel and roo if you are keen. Fancy damper too. He is also very service-oriented - I... More

When you arrive you are seated at long tables under the NT stars. A great start to what turned out to be a fantastic evening. Great food and plenty of it, great stories and an engaging host. Would do this again and would recommend this attraction.

If you want a good night out and experience some good Bush ticket this is the place to go! Sitting under the stars you will enjoy a wonderful meal cooked in camp ovens. Marksie uses natural bush herbs and spices which he sources himself. There are wallabies near by watching all the time looking for a scrap of food. The... More

Did a wonderful evening here with a bunch of ladies last year. Just down the road, but had never been. A wonderful evening, full of awesome atmosphere, amazing bush tucker and Marksie himself adding to the evening with his humorous little tales. A real pleasant evening under the stars. Definitely recommend.

Marksie's camp tucker night was quite a treat with slow cooked crocodile bush minted lamb and bush tomatoes with potatoes all cooked to perfection over his bush camp fire with wallaby's (all named "Barry") looking on. A great evening.

The previous reviews give a good idea of what to expect: to us, it felt a lot like an outback luau -- an open air meal of local food with local entertainment. The entertainment is in the form of Marksie telling outback jokes and stories. I can see why not everyone would like the jokes, but we thought he was... More

Lot of talk and not much else. Food cold and pre prepared, didn't see anything come out of camp ovens. Humour or lack of left a lot to be desired was glad when it was over.

Around a campfire with billy tea. Good company, good food, great yarns. What else does a person need to have a great night. No worries about the mozzies. And the novelty of having wallabies graze around the pakr while dining made it special.

The night with Marksie was a night excellently spent, it's the perfect experience for you if you want a 'real Aussie' one! We were recommended the dinner by friends and weren't disappointed. The food was great - we didn't go hungry and we loved learning about the equipment, the bush spices and the way Marksie learnt all his techniques. Not... More
