The city sister of Jarks Waimarama

Fairly new at this venue but have given it a facelift & did it well. Good menu options, wide range. Prices ok, staff first class, lots of smiles & attention, good ambience. Our first visit but won't be our last & we'll take friends.

Wow!!! What a huge disappointment, Actually the worst meal I have ever had and a restaurant. First we were told the chief was having a bad night so could we wait to order, then when we finally ordered our food it sat on top of the pass for 10 mins while the staff chatted and had a laugh with each... What an experience, we ordered lamb the first plate come out and it looked good quantities were good the lamb looked about the size they advertised 300 grams. It was a shame the same order was placed at the same table. The next plate come out it was less than half the size, that was not a problem. It was... More

Has gone downhill, realise the business is in financial trouble (local newspaper) but with the quality of the Burger meal I had for lunch it continues to slip. I can onlt desxribe teh burger as a Sloppy Joe (cheap and cheerful summer camp food I experienced in the U.S. worth the $15 charge...Not, The service was Average + and if... More

Welcome stopover after long drive from Wellington although it was the Saturday between Xmas and New Year so for a pub restaurant pleasantly quiet. Good value - $83 for 2 mains, salad & 3 drinks. Staff pleasant. Menu small but interesting - rabbit was one choice & not a hamburger in sight! Varied drinks list with fair prices.

Stopped in for an early lunch with the family as a break from wine tasting. Had the platter and pork sliders. Delicious, freshly cooked and the platter was more than enough for two. Friendly, attentive service. Son had the steak sandwich which he tucked into happily pronouncing it to be good. Worth visiting.

When this restaurant reopened we visited and the first time was great quick service and the platter was fantastic except for the salt and pepper squid which was like squid rings instead of the flat cut. Second trip back was disappointing a lot of the things that were meant to be on the menu weren't available had a Tiger beer... More

We ate at the corn exchange on a Saturday night (having booked a table near the fire which was really nice). The restaurant is at one end of the open-plan space, and the pub at the other, so it was pretty noisy especially as there was rugby on the big screen (NZ/SA) but that was to be expected. We had... Food was not as described on the menu. Potato was luke warm. Overpriced for what we got. Service was average, but friendly. Nice setting - pity the food didn't match.

Went to the Corn Exchange with a group of friends over the weekend- was blown away with what the new management have done with the place! Awesome menu with loads of variety, friendly & attentive waitstaff and cosy atmosphere! They even had colouring pencils and a selection of toys at the ready to keep the kids entertained. Had a great... More
