We booked at the information centre after a recommendation of a friend. A courtesy car picked us up from the wharf. After a short 10 min drive we were sitting at a table on-top if a hill with an amazing view over the harbour. The wine tasting and platter were delicious and freshly prepared. The only food available was a... More

We visited the Omata Estate winery today. Such a peaceful & relaxing place. The platter was generous and delicious. The wine was perfect and very reasonable. Our hosts were lovely and knowledgeable about their craft. It was such a treat to have some time out in such a great setting. Thank you. IWould highly recommend.

While staying in Russell we stopped by Omata for a wine tasting and "lunch" as was advertised on the sign along the road. We also called to make sure that lunch was, in fact, available. When we arrived and waited for the menu we were told that "lunch" was an antipasto platter which included meats, seafood and cheeses. All were... More

Great food, incredible service from the professional and knowledgeable but very personable and friendly and funny lady, with her sweet 10 year old sidekick trainee. Amazing view. Loved the Pinos Gris, was happily tipsy after buying a bottle to share and sharing another that we bought takeaway!... More

Amazing view from the top of the hill over the vines and bay. Bruce the vineyard manager gave us a very interesting wine tasting (and some tips for picking wines) before we enjoyed a lovely platter with meat, seafood and cheese and a bottle of pinot gris - exactly what we needed after a long walk. The location really is... More
