We a group of 10 visited Friday night 22nd May, the Menu had a really good selection, and Wine List. The service was ok, a couple of sides that were ordered were missed. The fish & chips meals that 4 people had was outstanding, would go again just for the Hapuka fish & chips.

We dined with a party of 10 and were all delighted by the fresh fish cooked to perfection, all meals were highly rated. The restaurant was full so service a tad slow. We would reccomend.

Atmospheric water front pub with good casual food. A good place to meet friends and family as children could be watched from the balcony.

Called in for lunch whilst we waited for the tour of the Pommelier. Love all the memorabilia and seeing the very first license issued to a pub in NZ. I had a really delicious seafood chowder and my partner had a burger he thoroughly enjoyed. Topped off with a Speights Distinction. The wine list and choice of beer is extensive.... More

For entree we shared the calamari - good portion and very nice. For main, shared lamb leg ( for two people). Cooked for 8 hours at 85 degrees we were told - beautiful. Also ordered a side of cauliflower in white sauce, which added to what turned out to be big meal. Couldn't eat desert! Service was good- attentive and... More

Just stopped in for a coffee, got a bit hungry, had the mushroom soup and shared the chocolate mouse, both were outstanding. Service was great, staff lovely. Really nice quiet setting inside as it was too windy to sit outside, but that would be nice too as it has heaters above the table. Would definitely visit again.

Immediately upon entrance to the restaurant, the ambiance and history envelop you. The atmosphere initially appears formal; however, all the guests were in casual clothes, jeans, and some were even backpackers. We had the lamb shoulder for 2, which was so tender you could cut it with a fork or spoon. This was accompanied by separate dishes of potatoes and... More

In February 2015 we spent a lovely few days in the Bay of Isles and on our way back from a tour of the Bay, we stopped off in Russell, the first capital of New Zealand. We discovered the Duke of Marlborough which is a grand old building, overlooking the water with its unspoilt beach and facing west into the... More
