They also had hambugers, which my husband loved. Many if not all the food was battered and deep fried.
These were the freshest fish and oysters we have had with chips. They filleted the fish after they took our order and while just a 'take away' we were delighted to have eaten there and have it on the top of our list for when we return to Russell.
Again a special trip over from Paihia to have Fish and Chips on the Russell waterfront from this excellent takeaway Fish and Chip shop.8 of us 3 generations and everyone enjoyed it so much that we got off the Cruise 2 nights later and did a return visit.3 of the grandchildren had toasted sandwiches----another a hot dog and the rest... I'd have liked a button that said Good as I'd rate this between Average and Very good. Basic fish and chips though nothing to dislike, popped in when too lazy to go back to the motel and cook. Everything we have come to expect of NZ seaside chippies. (UK chip shop owners need to do a training visit to NZ... More
We were having a day out in Russell, having taken the ferry from Paihai. So sunny - like England at its best. Good beach - like England at its best. Fish and chips at the Crusty Crab - almost like England at its best. No cod (of course), but Terakihi (pronounced almost like 'turkey'). 2 terakihi, 3 Hawaiian burgers, 2... More
No frills takeaway but very tasty and freshly cooked fish and chips. Generous portions as well. Limited seating outside the shop. Our plans to sit on the beach to enjoy these were thwarted by a sudden downpour!!! (Still tasted great though)
had a very good meal here very good staff you can have a laugh with them not me other places you can go and that happens
Frozen john dory wasnt nice atall, very thon and very processed,we had fresh gurnard and that was lovely, chips very nice, frozen fish lets this place down, its better have less choice but fresh rather than more choice frozen and not be happy.friendly staff.the marlborough fish and chips with heaps of otdoor seating much nicer.
The chips were excellent, the burger was good (home made patty & fresh ingredients) but I'd avoid their seafood chowder. It was gluggy, lacking a decent amount of fish and flavour-less. After a few mouthfulls I ditched the rest of the bowl and ate my husband's chips - a good thing the serve was so generous.
