Really, really good pub food.

We ate or drank at the Vic about three nights in a row on our recent annual trip to Nelson. We love the food here and the atmosphere too. I LOVE the new ciders, in particular the Blood Orange and Cardamom and the Chili and Lime. Can't wait for them to come down south! We were, however, unimpressed... read more

The Vic is a very relaxed bar with outdoor and indoor seating. The staff are great, very friendly, and the menu changes regularly. Great value!

In Nelson for the day and wanted a quick lunch. Stopped by the Vic Brewbar for a simple bite. My wife and I both had burgers, mine the beef, and hers the lamb. Both were gourmet style, hand blended with herbs, and the fries were some of the best we have had in NZ. Prices seem a little steep for... More

We went to Mac's at the Vic for a casual dinner and beer. Both were delicious! Our waitress was extremely friendly and attentive, and the patio was fantastic as well. We liked it so much we went back the next night!

The start are very friendly and helpful. My lunch ribs were very disappointing. 4 ribs only. Plus chips and salad. The price at mid $20's reflects a reasonable size meal but this was disappointing.1 rack of ribs maybe as a lunch portion but not 4 ribs. Needs rethinking if prices are going to stay at this level.

Great atmosphere. Never ate there, but wish we had. Plenty of local brews on tap and very nice decor with friendly staff. Went back a couple of times and would definitely go again. Highly recommended.

We joined a large group dining at the pub - all on separate bills. The gluten free menu was excellent but there was some confusion between gf items and their non gf equivalent. Would be nice to be able to order without making a fuss about choosing gf. The staff, however, managed the group, the serving and paying with grace... More

This is in a great position near to the cathedral. It is a particularly lively area at night with a good atmosphere. The food is reasonably priced, particularly compared to places nearby. and has a good range of beers. The fish and chips were really very good and the staff were helpful.

a relatively cheap eating place and not very exciting. Food is very average and the only good thing is that the serving staff is very efficient and responsive.

The classic pub setting and location were both great. The beer was good, the food was mediocre, overly salty seafood chowder, chicken salad, was poor, wilted greens, packaged croutons. We thought Nelson was famous for it's crafted beers and we tried hard to find just the one! Way better in Central Oregon!
