We looked for a nice place for diner and were really disappointed about Nelson until we found The Vics Brewbar. They offer good food at reasonable prices - what seemed to be unusual in Nelson, the staff was nice and fast. We had beef and lamb burgers and they were really good.

If you are a Brit and missing a good roast dinner get yourself to the Vic, much like a British pub, but more stylish. Open Mic night on a Monday is always fun too

Nice place to have a quiet drink or meal especially on a sunny day. Located in central part of town easy to find. Pub menu with a few different twists. Visited on a Tues night and all outside tables were in use or booked. If you like eating outside best book. Great to sit outside and eat and drink and... More

Enjoyed our Xmas eve lunch here, sat outside in the sun. Inside of the pub looked like it would be quite cosy and inviting in winter. Food was nice; fairly standard pub food, but that's what we were after, so it hit the spot. Would definitely go back again, even for an evening meal.

Great place to eat. I loved their homemade burger and the bear was excellent as well. You can sit outside on the main street which is full of restaurants or sit inside and enjoy the warn atmosphere.

Had lunch today with family mid afternoon and enjoyed it but felt quite bloated and full afterwards. The falafel kofta had been deep fried a bit too much and the wedges were pretty average too. It seemed like was deep fried and didn't have a lot of love showing in the food. The service was quite bad with our waitress... More

A nice pub ! Felt like a proper pub , even to a travelling Briton , with a decent choice of local craft beers. Nelson is good beer territory , the Vic serves good food , good ale , friendly service and can't be missed at the bottom of the Cathedral steps. And spiritual sustenance only a short ascent away...

The selection of beer was great and the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. We went there twice. The first time we ate ther was for lunch and no one serves table at lunch, so we had to order from the bar - it was a bit confusing. When we returned for dinner, they served is at the table. Food was... More

Was fortunate to dine here twice in the one week. And as the pork belly with black pudding was so divine the first time, I had to have it the second visit too. The service is quick and attentive, the staff very friendly and welcoming, the food excellent. Do book on the weekends for evening dining as it is popular.
