Multiple Winner of Best Cafe in Nelson. Bright, busy cafe in an historic building in central Nelson. Strong following of loyal locals but plenty to entice visitors as well. The menu changes seasonally and focuses on fresh, natural flavours that build on a number of ethnic cuisine styles. Our breakfasts have a large fan base with favourites like the Bacon & Eggs and Morrison Street's Local Breakfast staying on the menu year after year. Lunch includes Caesar Salad, Moroccan Pearl Couscous Salad and Chicken Tostada. There's plenty of fresh baking each day, a healthy kids menu and our coffee is excellent. There are lots of options for wheat, gluten & dairy sensitive people and vegetarians as well.

We went as a mixed group for a special first off evening trialling dinner matched to wines. FANTASTIC combination of 5 different courses from Tom Yum soup, Mushroom risotto ohh just delicious with great wines too. We had a fabulous time and are going again tomorrow night for their second night.

This place was humming on a Friday morning and seemed to be very popular for locals and visitors. The barista was very busy wi orders and the kitchen was working very hard to keep up with orders. We had breakfast here, but it wasn't the best we had and there was room for improvement. Service was on the slow side and... More

Visited for the first time. Its rather disappointing to find so many Nelson restaurants offering virtually the same menu. The food here was well cooked and tasty - its just a shame that they don't use their culinary talents in a more imaginative way.

I really really love the place. but the ventilation in the kitchen (hood) seems either out of order or to weak. but the smell of fried eggs and ham is unbearalble, to say the least. Hey guys ! please fix it and make the place enjoyable (again) - you deserve it. Please don't spoil the feel because of a techical... More

Had the porridge. Wholesome, nutty and perfect consistency. Wife had the pancakes and bacon. That looked and smelled delicious. Was allowed some pancake after much polite discussion. Was light fluffy and very moreish. Not allowed more. Coffee not too bad.

Second time I visited this cafe after initial disappointment and again received one of the worst coffees I have had for a long time. Long Black. You could immediately tell by looking at it that the coffee was burnt and devoid of any crema, and a decent barista should not let this standard of coffee be served. Was scalding hot... More

Recommend from a friend to visit this cafe for brunch on our trip to Nelson. Coffee was great (atomic, I believe). Wholemeal pancakes were awesome best wholemeal pancakes I've had, very hard to get not too stodgy. My fiancé had the creamy eggs with salmon, I would say that was a lil to creamy for my liking ended up being... More
