Multiple Winner of Best Cafe in Nelson. Bright, busy cafe in an historic building in central Nelson. Strong following of loyal locals but plenty to entice visitors as well. The menu changes seasonally and focuses on fresh, natural flavours that build on a number of ethnic cuisine styles. Our breakfasts have a large fan base with favourites like the Bacon & Eggs and Morrison Street's Local Breakfast staying on the menu year after year. Lunch includes Caesar Salad, Moroccan Pearl Couscous Salad and Chicken Tostada. There's plenty of fresh baking each day, a healthy kids menu and our coffee is excellent. There are lots of options for wheat, gluten & dairy sensitive people and vegetarians as well.

This place is in a great location and the staff are all very friendly, It is however very very noisy. This is in part due to the wooden floors and fact that it is very popular but certainly isn't helped by the yelling out of staff. When an order is ready the kitchen, staff yell out and this is responded... More

Pretty much every dietary need is catered for at this bustling eatery, and the counter laden with house-baked goodies is pretty irresistible as well. We loved the wholemeal pancakes (17.5), a very generous stack layered with sautéed apple and a star anise-spiced syrup for an extra boost of flavour. There was a whole lot of promise in the lambs fry... More

Thank you for nice, honest review of Morrison Street Cafe. We appreciate the time taken to do this, and also the great pics that you have put up. We have a new menu out since your visit but a lot of the favourites have remained. The pancakes now come with a delicious salted caramel sauce - very yummy. More

Stopped here because it looked welcoming and there was outdoor seating in the shade, ideal on a sunny Nelson day. The coffee was excellent, the staff were particularly outstanding, the date scone was done to perfection, light and not dry, so this cafe has to be highly recommended.

Ate here once this year. Very friendly attentive staff. Quick service. Steak on a stone great way to keep food hot and cooking. Not so sure about prawns. Kebab also good. Good wines by the glass which is important seeing drink drive laws have changed so now same as Scotland.

Forget the bitter coffee down the road, Morrison's has great coffee, great food and a wonderful atmosphere. Our young children loved it.

When travelling, it's really important for some of us to find great, awesome, memorable coffee. Morrison Street Cafe delivers. Spending about 9 days in Nelson, we found ourselves returning day after day for the coffee - it's that good. But there's more to this cafe than awesome coffee. The menu is excellent, the quality of the food is very high... More
