Multiple Winner of Best Cafe in Nelson. Bright, busy cafe in an historic building in central Nelson. Strong following of loyal locals but plenty to entice visitors as well. The menu changes seasonally and focuses on fresh, natural flavours that build on a number of ethnic cuisine styles. Our breakfasts have a large fan base with favourites like the Bacon & Eggs and Morrison Street's Local Breakfast staying on the menu year after year. Lunch includes Caesar Salad, Moroccan Pearl Couscous Salad and Chicken Tostada. There's plenty of fresh baking each day, a healthy kids menu and our coffee is excellent. There are lots of options for wheat, gluten & dairy sensitive people and vegetarians as well.

yum!

Came for my birthday and liked it so much that we came again. Super busy. Super nice staff. God for coffee and nibble or full meal. Kid friendly.

Title of meal: Tomato, pumpkin and blue cheese bruschetta. What I received: Cold mashed pumpkin on under ripe sliced tomatoes on cold barely toasted bread, with a skerrick of the ends of the blue cheese block. I feel nauseous...cold mashed pumpkin.

We came in for a coffee whilst having a meeting, and were asked to take a seat and given menus. After 10min no one had come back to us, so we called out to see if we needed to go up to order or if they would come to us. They said they would come to us in a moment.... More

This is a popular gathering place for locals as well as visitors to Nelson. Coffee and newspaper in the morning, chat with friends or wake up gradually. The prices and menu selection are very good. Service is friendly and helpful.

On a bleak Nelson day we dropped in for a quick lunch after some shopping - the soup of the day tasted freshly prepared and was delicious. In the CBD, and buzzing at lunchtime. Recommended.

Unbeatable brunch in Nelson, this is one of best local places for a cruisy weekend meal. Only criticism is that they could do with more space, especially in winter when the outside tables aren't quite so appealing, but this is of course a symptom of their popularity.

Love the options on the menu for food allergies/sensitivities - very comprehensive. This was always a favourite place of mine but seems to have lost its edge. I've had coffee and cake recently which was very nice, especially the gluten/dairy free ginger loaf. Yummy. But a recent lunch of Pad Thai was disappointing. The dish had a massive amount of... On our drive back to Christchurch we stopped here after many recommendations from travel books. Morrison Street Cafe is a low-key, simply decorated cafe that caters more to the stomach than the eyes. Touted as more of a locals spot, there is a community board on the wall and the artwork on the wall is often for sale. When there... More
