There was a large crowd of us but they served us very quickly with good quality food. The main, followed by dessert for $17.80 which we thought this good value for money. The menu was varied and interesting. Would go there again.

although food portions are HUGE, they don't taste. a pity. charming is the big stone table; in the middle an open fire, the pirates-of-the-carribbean-setting is ok for kids. but not beyond...

I've eaten here on lots of occasions, and the food is always excellent. It can be a little noisy in the busiest part of the evening, but the meal makes up for it.

My wife and parents had dinner on saturday night and it was very good. We made a phone booking and they said just to come on down and we will seat you. No sure if that meant they were quiet or they don't take bookings but didn't matter in he end. We were seated straight away and the lovely lady... More

We were travelling as a group and spent a couple of nights in the outside area watching the rugby. Restaurant looked very busy on Friday and Saturday night, unfortunately they closed to early for us on Sunday night and were closing up as we were arriving.

Stopped in on our way to Nelson airport for lunch with only 20 mins to spare. We explained that we were in a rush and what could they recommend. We were assured that our meals would be served in plenty of time for us to catch our flight. 4 meals plus drinks were served within 10 minutes and all were... More

A impulse visit for dinner with friends led us to the Smuggler. Would have to say that the welcome and service from the Staff was excellent. The meals were well presented and tasty but did think the 'fish-of-the-day' meal was over-priced. However we would recommend this as excellent Pub food with great service.

Had dinner at the Smugglers, Easter Sunday. Good menu, good selection of wines and beers. Dinner was good, service was fine, price was reasonable. Nothing exceptional, just a good pub and well worth a visit.
