We found the staff very friendly and the food excellent. A large vege pizza fed two people and was under $30. More

Here is an unpretentious pizza/pasta bar with Ray a great host doing the basics very well. Reliable and handy to Nelson's main beach on the main road. Go for it!! More

Nice food but really expensive for what it is. Food looks, smells and tastes good but as a "restaurant" that doubles as a "takeaway" the prices didn't reflect this. I would expect these prices at a eat in only restaurant. More

We came across this restaurant by accident. We both chose pizza from an extensive menu. It is a real pleasure to ear freshly baked pizza from a wood oven. More

After a great walk day in Abel Tasman Park, we parked our campervan at Tahuna Holiday Park. We went nearby to find something to fit our hungry stomachs. We went near Hot Rock which after small chat with the waiter (owner) created a crave for Italian food. We entered and did not regret our decision. Food (4/5): A good size... More

We arrived close to 9pm but were still made to feel welcome. Our pizzas didn't take very long (probably because we were the only two people there) and tasted delicious! I had the tiramisu for dessert, which the menu says is made in the premises, and it was very, very tasty. Staff was very helpful and pleasant and, even though... More

Personally, I loved the pizza. I think I had the mexican style. It was fresh and delicious. Don't have the Spaghetti marinara unless you like green lipped mussels. The manager/owner was nice too! More

Great service, tasty food, but not filling for the money. Did not have to wait long to get food. More

I was quite hungry and ordered the spaghetti thinking it would be quite filling. I was surprised to get a pretty small portion and finished it fairly quickly. The owner asked me if everything was all right with the food, and I complained that it was too small a portion, and his come back was “yes that’s quite a small... More

Hi Toby. Thank you for bringing your experience to our attention. We normally advise customers at time of order that our Spaghetti Olio dish is a small serve and regret that this did not happen in your case. Based on your feedback I'm pleased to advise we now offer both small and large servings of this dish. More

A truly gourmet pizza must combine an excellent crust and truly great ingredients. Unfortunately, Hot Rock does not meet expectations on any count. The crust is thin and truly wood fired with a crispy but absolutely flavorless, cardboard-like texture. The sauce is sweet and otherwise uneventful. The toppings are sparse and the cheese is bland. Much to my surprise, I... More
