Ranked #11 of 23 restaurants in Portland
Cuisines: Contemporary
Dining options: Breakfast/Brunch, Reservations
Description: This is a cafe combined with an art gallery, shopfront for local artists and swcond hand book shop. The food is simple but well prepared with a huge range of teas. The art is reasonably priced and good quality second handbooks very cheap. Lovely setting as it is a converted old house so each room is a themed sitting area for the cafe.

My friends & I often visit-or rather, revisit, this local homely "tea rooms/art gallery" as it is so nice (with such friendly hosts) we just keep coming back! The menu is simple (not too many items that you get confused trying to order!) but not plain by any means. If you are looking for something a little unusual/different from the... More

Quaint eateries... service not so good... two very young staff, more interested in discussing their weekend exploits than service.... Perhaps some barista lessons would be an advantage as well as customer service....

I enjoyed a light lunch here, on a lovely sunny day. It is an old converted house with a second hand bookshop in one of the rooms and a combined food and Art Gallery. The salad I had was tasty and unusual with chicken and cheese balls, and dips. It was quite large probably enough for two, good coffee, and... More

The atmosphere of this restaurant is unique. It is a cafe restaurant situated inside an art gallery complete with bookshop. The gallery itself is quirky with an eclectic range of high quality art and local crafts. Then there is the food. It is a mix of old fashioned tea and scones and a modern low calorie high flavour menu with... More

This is one of my favourite places for hot chocolate. With a lovely homely atmoshere and a log fire in winter the food and surroundings warm your heart, and tummy. Catching up with friends here is wonderful, you feel like you have your own personal space and browsing the art works on display is a pleasant attraction.

A staggering $10 for two medium coffees, which were undrinkable due to them being so incredibly weak and tasteless. The take away cups were quite large, so you would expect there to be 2 shots of coffee but we really couldn't tell what was in there. The coffee was thrown away. They need to do the same thing to their... More

best scones in Portland served in an old church manse, lots of atmosphere, with separate rooms for privacy...local art works and a book exchange form part of this experience. gourmet hot chocolate is another attraction. good seasonal menu based on locally sourced ingredients.

Food was excellent and art work great. We were pointed here by the hotel and were not disappointed. The bacon sandwiches were tasty

This smallish cottage is on the main street but set back. Each room is full of art, some of it for sale but I saw nothing that grabbed my attention. The scone was freshly made and delicious but the coffee wasn't great. Milk was burnt as were the beans. I suggest they invest in a proper commercial coffee machine and... More
