This is a cafe combined with an art gallery, shopfront for local artists and swcond hand book shop. The food is simple but well prepared with a huge range of teas. The art is reasonably priced and good quality second handbooks very cheap. Lovely setting as it is a converted old house so each room is a themed sitting area for the cafe.

Totally Eclectic

Friends invited us for coffee at the Tea Tree Gallery. Whilst we waited for them to arrive we ambled through the rooms of the old house – what a treat viewing the eclectic collection which included art, collectibles, produce, and books. My partner and I had an hour to spare. We both enjoyed the surroundings, he more the bookshop and myself the local artwork and the intriguing repeat mermaid motif. Some of the work on display is sensational. The work of two indigenous artists on display was awesome. Loved the huge turtle dot styled painting. Also a surrealist artist had a... More

The Tea Tree Gallery was somewhere I've always wondered about when visiting PORTLAND and finally got to check it out! Will definitely return!! Great selection of drinks, food, cakes and wonderful artwork. Creative and kooky!! European hot chocolate was marvellous!! Coconut one my favourite. Staff were friendly and helpful for information on sightseeing. Husband said coffee was great and we... More

On a Sunday morning, my husband and I ordered coffee and scones, and the waitress suggested sitting anywhere in cafe, there are several rooms which we did. Whilst enjoying the coffee and scones, another waitress approached as a large group of people were entering the cafe, she asked for a 'big favour' that we move to another room so that... More

There was some interesting art on the walls which I enjoyed looking at. I felt the quality of the cakes sold in the tea room could have been better. The service of the staff was ok.

Food was sensational. Kids ate free. Rooms were good, we had a room to ourselves with our kids so they could be noisy without disturbing others and there were toys for them to play with.

We had our brekky here before embarking on our journey back to the Great Ocean Road. Friendly service, good food and quirky and wonderful surroundings.

My review is solely based on appearance. Everything was very quirky and a bit weird which I loved. From the appearance outside to the inside - as shown by my pictures. We did come here to have lunch but the menu is very small so we decided to eat elsewhere , but definitely somewhere to go for a drink and... More

Tea Tree Gallery is the one of the cutest cafes I've been in. The set up is different to anything in Portland, it's got a lovely homey feeling. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. Definitely my new favourite hangout,

Lovely coffee yet again and I had a yummy Caramel Tart as well. A fantastic exhibition from a great local artist also. A wonderful experience.
