We ate there as part of a family of five. The meals were big, tasty, and value for money. Looks a bit rustic from the outside but definitely worth the visit. You cannot really miss the place either as it has a big metal lobster hanging off the front,

The Lobster Inn was so busy that they had to open up the restaurant. We had a great meal and the lady manning the restaurant by herself did a good job.

The bar is on the ground floor and you can have a bar meal in there, however there is a restaurant on the first floor and this is where we had our meal. The restaurant was recommended to us by the hotel we were staying at (Aspen Court), and it turned out to be a good recommendation. I had seafood... More

We enjoyed our stay at The Lobster Inn. The rooms are modern and the view out the back is fantastic. The bathroom is well equipped and has heaps of hot water. It is in a great position for the town and the Ohau stream seal walk, which is a 20 minute drive away. The only down side was the road... More

We ate here on a Thursday night and the place was scattered with a handful of locals. Some playing pool. The green carpet and decor leaves a bit to be desired but that's not why we were there. We ate downstairs and ordered at the bar. They said the restaurant was upstairs but there was no one up there. My... More

For a city slicker like myself, on the outside (and inside) the place doesn't look like much...but don't let the RSA-esque pubby façade fool you. The seafood chowder was delicious!! They gave a generous portion and even considering how fantastic the meal was, the highlight of this dining experience for me was the service. I've never been so pleasantly surprised... More

This inn was recommended by staff at Aspen Court Motel as I wanted to try NZ cray fish- we were not disappointed- I had the baked crayfish - delicious. James served on and he could not have been more helpful with his recommendations- thank you.

Cooked an OK steak which was complimented with a very nice mushroom sauce with chips & salad all very nice. The pub itself is quite noisy but to be expected.

We ate in the restaurant that is attached to this fine Lodge. It's upstairs with a very nice bar and nice view looking outside. We both had the seafood chowder for $!3.50 and it was very good!! The bar downstairs was really packed as it was a Saturday night. Must be a great local hangout by the amount of people... More
