Amazing food

When you see this little cafe you wonder why so many people are queuing for food. Once you try the seafood goodies you know why. Amazing food at reasonable prices. Certainly worth a visit

Interesting menu but bland food. Had the crayfish omelette but all I could taste was egg. Salad n rice were ok but nothing to shout about. A bit boring really. Just like the rest of kaikoura town.

We loved eating our fresh crayfish and fish platter on the side of the road. The food is cooked on a BBQ while you wait. The meal was fresh and delicious. This was a unique kiwi experience and is highly recommended. The crayfish the best value we found but still an expensive meal but so worth every bite. Arrive early... More

Great place to have a bite whilst walking around the peninsula. The queue is its best review as the seafood was great for a reasonable price and cooked simply! Worth a visit

Good food, well cooked at a reasonable price. Called crayfish but to English people these are lobster. Get there before 17.30 as around then it goes to a takeaway service. Also later in the day only the bigger, more expensive lobster are left

Our hotel told us to try it for lunch after the coastal walk. So we did. We shared a sizeable rock lobster which was delicious. It's not cheap and they only take cash/direct debit, but it's fresh and good. They could be better if they supplied disposable moist hand towels to clean your fingers afterwards. We spent NZ$139 with a... More

Had a hankering for some fresh crayfish. Was recommended this place as the only place to go. When we arrived we were shown a chilly bin with cray. The cheapest was $59, and I'd say it was just legal ( though they advertise that crays start at $45 so I'm guessing they got smaller). The big boys were over $100.... More

perfectly cooked seafood. From crayfish to scallops and mussels, local fish and fish patties, all cooked fresh to order and in front of you. Good value. Seafood platters available.

Stopped here on recommendation from hotel. It was very nice, good selection of fresh and different seafood. My only complaint was that there was not enough seating, being that it had been raining you couldn't even sit on the beach. A couple more seats would be good, apart from that excellent.
