Dropped in for lunch, eating crayfish and fish and chips. Food was fresh and tasty, while the lady serving was attentive and gave us some tourist tips. View across the bay and mountains was great!

Arriving in Kaikoura I had a craving to try crayfish for my dinner. This restaurant was recommended to me by the manager of the accommodation I stayed at for the best crayfish in town and it was local. After being greeted very warmly by the staff it kind of went downhill after that. The crayfish was on offer but with... More

sandwiches were good, ambience was good, expensive (or maybe it is just NZ!). Nice views. You can sit outside if the weather is nice. Reservation recommended for dinner. Small play area for kids outside.

Monday 11 August 2014. I ordered the Groper with Lemon butter sauce served with roasties and freshly cooked vegetables, with a price tag of $34.50, initially thinking this was a bit on the high side, however this would have been one of the most tastiest, yummiest meals I have ever had, and worth every cent.. The young lady behind the... More

The crabfish/NZ rock lobster(half) is definitely the best meal for us in NZ. Fresh and nature taste, we tried to "dismantle" them eat them up while they are still warm. the fries in the set are delicious too. The seafood chowder is a must-try too!( I strongly recommend that you share the chowder with others because the crabfish set almost... More

We arrived after dark after a day in transit. The welcome was warn, the chowder, mussels and steak were delicious and an after dinner drink in the bar, whilst doing nothing to cure my ignorance of rugby, did reveal the locals' passion for the game. A lovely pub.

We had a fabulous meal - started with the nz whitebait and the dips and bread. Between us we had the pasta, lamb loin, steak and chicken parmigiana - all we're fabulous. Our only comment would bd that the mains are huge - you don't need the starters!

The best meal we had in South Island. Fabulous Sea Food Chowder, and Cray with salad and chips, lovely local Pinot gris.
