Just brilliant......

I had a meal here tonight and it was amazing! I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. The service was outstanding and the waitresses were lovely n even made the effort to have a conversation with you. I had the seafood fettuccini and the apple and boysenberry strudel. We went there for brunch and were not disappointed. All the food is organic and although prices were a bit on the high side the food was presented well and was very tasty.

We called into Hislops on the way to Nelson for a coffee and bite to eat. Very warm welcome and didn't have to wait long for coffee so we could continue on our journey. There is a large range of food and drink in a relaxing setting so yo can pop in and out or stay for a whole meal... More

Came here for the chowder and wasn't disappointed. Bit expensive with 18dollars a bowl and charging an extra dollar for an extra slice of bread, bit mean!

We chose this restaurant because of the good reviews and we had a vegan in our group. They had nice vegan dishes in addition to the lamp chops and fish gumbo which very good. Service was awful. Took 20 minutes to bring the bread. One of entrees showed up very late. Had a wine by the glass that had gone... More

I have seen reviews on this place and always been keen to try it out. It has an amazing selection of gluten free, dairy free and vegan food. The menu was awesome with heaps of dishes I would have happily chosen. I had the falafel salad and my friend had the lentil burger, neither are things I would normally order... More

Says it all. Poor coffee and badly made with indifferent service. Food was OK but how did it get to be Number 6 on the recommended list?

We had several meals here while staying in Kaikoura and found everything delicious - the fish chowder was exceptionally tasty and packed with goodies. We also had an excellent seafood pasta - thoroughly recommended if you're in Kaikoura.

This cafe is very nice, great interior and atmosphere. The steak sandwich on the lunch menu is great, comes with garlic bread, onion marmalade, chips and of course steak, they are all amazing. Will definitely be back to try other meals

Wonderful meal, great staff . Was the best meal we had in Kaikoura by far . Staff were friendly and gave us advice for the rest of our trip around the main land
