Enjoyed a wonderful evening at the Killer Prawn. The food was very good and presented nicely. We sampled several of the local beers and found them tasty. This restaurant is a must go to.

Visited this restaurant 2 weeks ago for dinner on recommendation from colleagues and friends. The restaurant is nice, sort of a relaxed pub/bar feel, the waiting staff were friendly. I had seafood to eat, and although the fish was nice, I found the combination of flavours in lots of their dishes a bit much and didn't really enjoy the wine... More

Went to enjoy an evening with business colleagues. All was going well until the waitress decided she did not like me. She sent a waiter to talk with me. I thought that was fine however i then watched him talk to the chef who looked at our group who then threw my chicken on the ground in the kitchen as... More

We had been told that Killer Prawn was the place to go in Whangarei. A colleague raved about the seafood and said it couldn't be missed. I could have easily missed it. Signature prawns were heavily battered and tasteless. Mussels conversely were very tasty. We then all ordered steak. Portion sizes were huge but the steak was incredibly tough. Vegetables... More

This place was a disappointment. Headed back after a few years away. The food was not what you'd expect ... ordered two specials of the day. Thai beef salad was tough and chewy in spite of the large quantity. The pork was also very average. Think they need to work on the chef. Service was ok

Husband and I hadn't booked, didn't take too long for them to seat us. We both had steak and were not diasppointed, cooked just the way we like it! No room for dessert but our neighbours all seemed to enjoy the cheesecake. If someone in your group is celebrating a birthday...the staff do a great celebratory surprise! Great experience.
