Killer Prawn is one of the best restaurants in town. Perfect for a special occasion or fun times with friends and family. It is all open planned with a bar attached if you're waiting for others to arrive. There is a tv on the wall above the kitchen - it was play the Commonwealth Games while we were there but... More

People do yourself a favour, do lunch at Killer Prawn, the food is brilliant, we had prawn cocktails as a main along with the seafood chowder, brilliant is all I can say, one of the highlights to date. Staff and service 2nd to none.. Keep up the great work

I have eaten at Killer Prawn many times in the past when in the area for business. Was my favourite place and one I previously recommended to others. This time around the magic was gone. The service was average and the few groups that were in the resturant were all jammed fairly well together in one area. This also meant... More

Came to Killer Prawn after checking out trip advisor & local knowledge. Not let down at all, lovely food on offer. Meals were well sized & the Tempura Prawns were the best I have ever had! Service was ok, although production of a wine/beer list prior to being asked what you would like to drink would be handy. Venue was... More

I loved our experience. The fire fire place was a bonus. The inside is castlesque with high ceilings & exposed rustic brick walls. Waitress was friendly & accommodating. The service was prompt. Wonderful selection of local beers on tap. The oysters were fresh & tasty.

A must do for all visitors and locals alike. Fantastic food and service. You have to try the signature dish "Killer Prawn" - be prepared to wear a bib and get your fingers right amongst it.

I am writing this having just got into bed after an evening at Killer Prawn. My husband and I went for the first time having lived in whangarei for 6 months. I would have left a sterling review anyway as the food was outstanding and the service impeccable but I feel even more compelled to after what happened. We had... More
