Nice food, great coffee

Wholesome, authentic Isreali food. Great coffee. Owner a good guy. No nonsense, got what we wanted. Not bad for provincial NZ. Go the Fat camel!

A cheerful, casual restaurant, seating inside and out. Food is good, fresh and tasty. Not rave material but better than we saw in Turkey for instance. Staff are very helpful providing good service.

The Fat Camel is a favourite restaurant. They offer authentic food and atmosphere. The food is delicious with authentic flavours and healthy and good value for money. The restaurant is small with maximum seating for 24 inside and seating for 12 outside. The restaurant is located near other restaurants and he share the same cobblestone alley. The atmosphere is always... More

The staff were very friendly on our arrival, outside seating was available. The menu had an excellent range of meals ranging in price from very cheap to affordable. When the food arrived they were well displayed and the portions were substantial. Good also to see that that there were real mediterranean (Israelis I think) using the restaurant. Always a good... Lovely food, so fresh and coffee divine. Just the out of the way place to sit and relax and then go and do some more shopping!

I have had takeaway lunches from The Fat Camel about a dozen times in the last couple of months. The cafe layout is quite simple, the delicious cooking smells drift out to the pavement. All the food I've had has been tasty, healthy and filling. I think it's pretty good value; they also have a customer loyalty card which doesn't... More

The food here is the best. It is healthy, tasty and very well priced. It is one of most popular places for the girls at work and I to go to lunch. Would recommend going there if you are ever in Whangarei and like food that is a little bit different.

Great food and friendly service. We had an entree to share between the two of us and a main each which was far too much to eat. Don't expect an extensive wine choice but such great food it's not a major. Will definitely come again.
