We have indoor booth seating as well as tables for couples and tables for four. If you are a big family don't be shy to ask our friendly staff to join tables, we are more than happy to do that for you. Outside are more tables and seating with umbrellas for shade. A view of our Clock museum with flowers surrounding a huge sundial gives plenty to entertain visually while enjoying your meal. Tour buses regularly arrive not far from our doorstep with lots of parking and a big play area for children just around the corner. Feedback is essential for constant improvement which we welcome gladly. We hope you enjoy your meal, From all the staff at Serenity Cafe :)

Terrible atmosphere, a lot of yelling going on. It was so unpleasant eating here. Also my food was extremely salty (I had the steak and kidney) would only recommend that dish if you love salt. An older woman served me, she was very loud and rude when I was asking questions about meals. I also... read more

I was pleasantly surprised with Serenity, mu husband dragged me and I wasn't very optimistic. Although the restaurant is very clean, it lacks atmosphere due to the shape of the restaurant (very hard to make it warm when its rectangular). They have done a very good job with décor lifting the aesthetics but the menu board needs a tidy up.... More

Recommend the eggs benedict. A friend always has steak and kidney. Fast efficient service. The menu board could be less crammed to make it easier to read

I have to have breakfast here every time I am in Whangarei. I absolutely love the scrambled eggs here !!! It's in a beautiful location and also sells the best homemade pies you can find. The coffee is also really good ..... definitely worth a visit for breakfast !

A disappointing experience. Frankly, it's hard to believe from the other reviews that this was the same café we had breakfast at. First Coffee. Long blacks should not be served in big wide cups - they go cold really fast. Narrow tuplip cups are what smart cafes use. May I suggest you make this change. Biggest disappointment = toast. Horrible!... More

Todays fresh fish with chips or salad was Gurnard. The menu advertised at as fresh and it certainly was. Chips nicely good and dry, Wife had the salad again very nice. Price was $18.00 per serving which I reckon is very fair for the meal you get. Lost track of how many times I/ we have eaten there, and don't... More

Great location on waterfront, not with basin view but very pleasant. Food is more like tearooms with all day breakfast and a few specialities. A lot of fried food but it is all well cooked, fresh and nicely presented. Great place for breakfast or a naughty treat. Always busy, speaks for itself. MUCH cheaper than the other options in the... This cafe is Well overrated on here. We were 6 people for lunch of which two were kids. It was a standard meal, with absolutely nothing extrodinary ABOUT it. The service was good, but they did not offer childrens portions and we had to split an adult meal for the kids. My wrap was pretty average, but ok. I do... More

Big menu, doesn't look too flash walking in but the food is delicious. Fast, friendly service despite being a busy Sunday morning. Would highly recommend eating here.
