I have to say this really isn't my kind of place but it was 4:40pm, I hadn't had lunch and they had a sandwich board outside promoting whitebait fritters - how could I resist? The service was super friendly, the food arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious. So, it just goes to show it doesn't hurt to break your habits... More

Good service, solid food and a fairly lively sports bar atmosphere. You could do worse than Breakers if you are required to while away winter evenings during an excursion to Wanganui. We were visiting unwell family members so it was nice to unwind in this sort of gregarious atmosphere after the daily ration of sadness. Easy on the wallet, too.

I stay in Wanganui often on business and always eat at Breakers in these trips. Very pleasant staff. The food is very good value too. Never disappointed with what is served, which is saying something, as I have eaten here at least a few dozen times.

Went here August 24th for lunch just for a quick bite. The fire in the bottom part is really wonderful and large and the person who was on the bar (taking the orders) gave us good service and made us feel welcome. Theres also a little area for kids to play in. The food itself was ok although i will... More

Breakers should be ashamed to have this place in their franchise. Doesn't come close to any of the other ones. Terrible service, inedible food. Waited over an hour on a Monday night for a plate with 10 undercooked fries, undressed lettuce and a tiny piece of over microwaved chicken. Grumbles from the other diners indicated they had similar experiences.

Palmerston North Breakers is such a good meal we thought we would eat in the Wanganui Breakers and get a quite good meal also. Alas how wrong we were. We should've clicked when no one was in the place at 7 on a saturday. Worst meal ever.

Went here recently with a number of friends for dinner. The service, like the prices and quality of most of the food wasn't terrible, but certainly wasn't worth 5 stars either. The biggest downer of the night was when the wrong meal came out to our table, and when the correct meal was eventually brought out, the meat was rather... More

We go to breakers once a month, and although it is pricey with the amount of kids we take there, they enjoy it. the food is delicious, though I would recommend that if you order desserts then get it delivered with the meal otherwise youll be there for ages, not that the kids will mind
