We use to stop here for an ice-cream and then that closed and this amazing cafe opened. I love their kumera fritata with a long black coffee and a view of the sea. All food is baked on the premises and the service is awesome.

I have to confess I live near this cafe so it's my "local'. But I wouldn't go there if it was not up to scratch. It is superbly located by the Waiomu domain, and the casual indoor/outdoor setting is completely in keeping with the chilled coastal ambiance. The coffee is great, and the menu is always interesting and very well... More

Stopped here by chance dying for a good coffee and a loo stop, great welcome from the counter staff and a great array of fresh baking and straightaway the “just out of the oven sales pitch worked, fluffy bread (rolled like a Swiss roll) with three different fillings I had ham cheese & pineapple with hollandaise sauce on the side,... We enjoy this cafe with its wholesome food, great coffee and friendly staff. The food is always high quality with a range that is sure to satisfy any appetite. The views across the road through the reserve help to make this a great place for a break from driving one of most scenic coastal drives.

Enjoyed morning tea here. Great coffee with chocolate fish :) hot and delicous cheese and spinach pin wheels. Along with a very yummy caramel slice. By the taste I am guessing they are all home made with real ingredients ! Perfect setting and friendly people.

We had accommodation a few towns away, near Tapu, and the extremely limited (a pub and a takeout 'greasy', both lacking anything edible and anything approaching friendly service!) left us hungry the first night of our stay. Then, the next morning we found this little gem, and had a breakfast, lunch, picnic snacks, and takeout pizzas over the next three... More

Had Sunday morning breakfast here before going to work at 10am. The food was homemade, fresh and very tasty with a good selection of vegetarian options. The staff were friendly even when flat stick busy. We enjoyed the outside location and view of the sea.

On a very hot summer day we stopped at Waiomu Beach Café in the Coromandel for an ice cream. It was quite busy and people were lining up for the counter. One lady was serving the customers. She was running around irritated what we not quite understood. The ice creams were almost thrown into the cones and pushed over the counter.... More

I had a great breakfast at the Waiomu Beach Cafe. Delicious meal and prompt service. I like the range of tables available: the sun umbrellas over wooden tables outside, or the more cafe style in the stand-alone house, plus a smattering of funky NZ cushions for those of us who need extra padding on wooden benches.

Friendly staff, and offer of cold water appreciated. Took my Mum for her Birthday. Sorry but I was disappoined. My coffee was luke warm and chipped plates are just horrible to have food served on. There were 3 of us and the food was not good. Appreciated the fact it was busy but being people who lunch out often on... More
