Great beach cafe with genuinely friendly kiwi vibe

We stopped here for lunch en route to Coromandel and were pleased we did. There is an outdoor area looking over the grassy domain out to sea, and a quirky bach-like building adjacent with tables set in numerous tiny rooms decorated with local art. I chose the 'fishy dishy' of the day and enjoyed a... read more

If you were ever wanting to teach your staff, how not to run a café, this is where you would take them. I cannot believe that this place gets a health certificate with food on open display where customers can handle sneeze and cough over. Check out the photos on this web site. The staff uniforms are grubby, along with... More

This is the place to go on a beautiful day. You can sit outside and enjoy the view of the water. The food is average - I had a mushroom soup but did not enjoy it much.

The food is good, the café is just across from the beach. We had a toddler with us and their room with toys was a godsend - we could enjoy our meal and our baby had fun too!

We had some nice baked good here before heading off on a trek to a kauri grove nearby. The cafe is rather small, but the seating outdoors is adequate with nice views of the beach.

Stunning little stop with a great little courtyard and delicious home cooked fresh goodies. Excellent tree in the park opposite!

Have stopped twice at this café on the way to Coromandel and have always been amazed at the variety of locally baked items & interesting daily specials. Despite being a popular stopping place their service is always prompt and friendly. Parking is available across the road from the café.

This quirky little cafe is a must stop place if not for the lovely coffee (served with little chocolate fish on the side) or the divine array of fresh baked pastries (the cinnamon swirl muffin was to die for) and the other delicious looking consumables on the menu, then the interesting garden furniture (bathtub sofa, spare tire coffee table) and... We stopped on our way up the coast road, I have a dairy intolerance so cannot often eat ice cream but the mango coconut ice cream is yummy. The home made cakes just made the visit perfect will try to visit on way back down.
