The best dinner ever

I had the breads, steak, and sticky date pudding and it was the BEST meal out I have ever had. So much deliciousness and great upbeat staff (shout out to the blond chap). The night we were there a lady was providing background music which was pleasant and understated. Yum!

I rate Barista as average, but it truth, for Palmerston North, it is a little above average. You can go to any cafe in Palmy and find the exact same things on the menu. So for breakfast, if you want different, Barista should not be your choice. In the evenings, the diner fare is a bit more varied and can... More

we were friends meeting for lunch not from P.N and chose the Baristas on a recommendation from a lady in Max Shop. So off we went and we were not disappointed. We were all very happy with our meals which were served promptly and with a smile. it was reasonably busy but felt everything was running smoothly and didn't feel... More

A Cafe that has managed to keep pretty good consistent service and food. I believe its because its kept good at the things it does well and the atmosphere is always good. Sometimes more recently the service has been a little lacking, better when the owners are there. Great place to take friends and know you can get a good... More

We were having a late lunch as we were trying to get on the road to leave town. We choose Barista, because it looked good, and we thought it wouldn't cost a fortune. Well we ended up taking a long time and eventually ordered breakfast food, because the lunch food was quite expensive for a cafe (> $20/plate). Ok maybe... More

The food at Barista is usually good. Yesterday we went for brunch, and I ordered the Confit Mushroom which offered a confit of portobello mushrooms, chorizo, duck-fat fried eggs arranged on a slice of bacon-wrapped potato gratin. As I am allergic to beef I requested something to replace the chorizo but the waiter said there weren't many options, so they... More

We have visited Barista a number of times, and we are always impressed by the quality of food and service! Arriving at Barista is a visual feast something akin to being simultaneously at the theatre and an art-gallery, and on Saturday night we were entertained with live singing. Fantastic!

A wet cooler day in Palmerston North, we decided to see if we could get a table for 2. The whole place was full, but a table was found and cleaned for us. Although the staff were incredibly busy we got top service, nothing was too much bother and they all made sure we had a everything we needed and... More
