Schnitzel was awesome. Beautiful spot! Good beer selection but not many wines. So many places to choose from but like this place one of the most

Worst food ever. Might have been the fact that the chefs were too busy smoking and drinking in the garden to be cooking the food...don't know...Was unedible. Do not get the lamb shanks. Ugh

We stopped at Duckstein for some of our group to to the beer tasting. Although I skipped the tasting on this occasion, I was thoroughly impressed by the estate. Duckstein has a terrace that overlooks a lovely dam with a Vegas like fountain dancing in the centre. The sound of the water and the atmosphere was a perfect stop to... More

Finally, on our Bushtucker Tour of the wineries, here was something for my beer-drinking husband to enjoy. He bought the sample tray to start out, then he chose a beer and I tried the cider. Both were excellent. A great cap to a great day.

Visited the brewery and tried their German beer. Had their dunkel which taste fantastic. We arrived at 3pm where their kitchen was about to close and only order their Bert battered fries and kids meal for boy. Their fries are crispy and tasty. They also had a outdoor playground which is good for family. The restaurant is big and spacious... More

We decided to have lunch here as we had been once before a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. Well, lots has changed as we didn't enjoy it at all this time around. I'll start with the beer: We had a Pilsner and it was so cloudy and gassy - it was not good. Now for the food:... More

Had lunch today with a group of friends and our pre-teen children. Very limited menu - so I chose the schnitzel - a large fried piece of meat with a smidge of mushroom sauce plopped on a bed of soggy baked potatoes and cabbage. Yuck!! No table service at this place, you have to line up for a drink and... More

The pork knuckle literally came out within five minutes which is never a good sign. The steak not long after and for $42 each steak, the amount of fat I needed to cut off was terrible. We had 10 people and not one person enjoyed their meal leading to two people who had the pork knuckle needing to throw up... More

But we were just passing through and tried the Pilsner, which was very nice. Duckstein is a huge cavernous building built alongside the reservoir which lacks a little charm as it was empty apart from one other table. I could well imagine a corporate event, wedding or coach tour finding Duckstein perfect, but it was a little impersonal for us.

We went late one afternoon, had a beer tasting plate and thoroughly enjoyed. Five beers for $15. We intended to come back to try the German food tasting plate but didn't make it. The surrounding are lovely and the place has a good atmosphere although I think it could get pretty noisy if it was really busy. There's a little... More
