This is one of our favourite restaurants - we manage to go every time we go to Melbourne - the service is efficient and fun, the wine list is excellent and the food is fantastic!

We had dinner here on Saturday night. Four adults and one child. The food was fantastic and the service was also outstanding. The prices are quite high in comparison to many other Chinese restaurants in Melbourne but the food is very, very good. Think the price was around $250 with one bottle of wine. We will come back here again.... More

Extremely good dining experience in a fantastic Chinese Restaurant. Very relaxing and ambience perfect. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and service is swift without being invasive. Nothing is rushed and food turns up at good intervals. We didn't need to order as Peter(the waiter) gave us some great suggestions. The highlights were the Crab and Bean curd... More

Read about the rave reviews of the Patagonian toothfish but perhaps it was the way it was prepared on the night but there was nothing special about it at all. Service was very good.

This restaurant started of as a more casual local cafe. It has nor moved into a slightly more formal and slightly dearer restaurant. Don't let this put you off. The food and service are right up there. This is no surprise as the restaurant belongs to Gilbert Lau's sons. Gilbert himself is often in attendance. The food and service is... More

Picked this place after readings reviews on TA and we were not disappointed. We have since visited Lau's 4 times in the past few months with visiting friends and family and every time it has been brilliant. The service is second to none, but the food is the real star. Fresh, light and full of flavour, completely different to most... More

Just your average Chinese restaurant really. I read the reviews and thought this was going to be something special. But it really wasn't. It was fine and had I just been expecting a standard Chinese then I would probably have been very happy. But my expectations were set high and so this didn't really cut it for me. Nice enough... The service was exceptional and this is clearly a popular place, however I was a little disappointed in my choices - the Sui Mai was good as was the Char Sui but overall it was a little too westernised. I had a duck entree that could have been chicken, pork or veal. It came schnitzel style, which wasn't how it... More

Made a reservation and luckily so, because it was full at 7 on an ordinary Thursday night. Service was friendly, food excellent, small but adequate wine list priced well. It might be a little tricky to find for out-of-towners, so check your map first. We loved it.

I walked in off the street to find exceptionally attentive service and really delicious food. I couldn't fault it. Jolly good. Go there!
