Great Choice.

On arriving at the restaurant we were greeted politely and shown to our window seat, there is inside and outside seating, for not a large restaurant there were a lot of guests dining with plenty of space. We enjoyed an outside table on Fri night with the Lau family visiting our table to ensure we were satisfied with everything! We had 5 courses including oysters, calamari, tender beef and Patagonian toothfish as the finale of the night! Simply superb...

Three of us went for a casual lunch during the week. The restaurant was only half full however this meant we had a great table. The food was up the excellent standard the last time I was here which is a couple of years ago. The service was first rate and the value was OK. We will not wait two... More

A group of 10 of us ate at Lau's Family Kitchen. We asked him to do shared plates for around $40 per head. We had a couple of starters and a couple of main courses. Whilst the food was delicious, each portion was very small (e.g. the coral trout portion was less than the size of the palm of my... More

Superb service and really excellent food. We tried quite a few dishes over the many lovely hours we spent at lunch, huge garlic prawns, squid, prawns with mung beans, crispy skin poussin, sang choy bau. All the dishes were served with perfect timing and were outstandingly good. There is a lovely outdoor terrace for sunny days

With the Lau name to live up the pressure is always on! Another visit with friends before xmas did not disappoint…in fact over the years never has. Only bugbear is parking ! Should be put on the list to savour a sample of one Melbourne's better Chinese restaurants.

Once again treated like royalty at this StKilda monument to fine dining. The dishes came and went without fuss and were excellent, albeit similar to last time. Thanks to Michael & Jason and of course Gilbert Lau.

I had heard so many reports about this place that when the chance arose on New Years eve to go there I finally got to sample what I had heard people rave about. The food was simply put the best I have eaten of its type. The coral trout was one of the most amazing experiences you could wish for and... More

Took some ultra soffisticates from Adelaide. We were blissed out by the spinach rice roll, the salt and pepper calamari, a steamed orange roughy and pork in vinegar A little fried rice and stir fried vegetables rounded off a perfectionists idea of fresh ingredients enhanced by technique..bravo!
