right at the beach - ideal for children

after we had dinner a couple of days ago at republica the first time, we returned yesterday as we had a good time before. it's a great place to go with your little ones, the staff is child friendly and the location tight at the beach. Food is good. Try the oysters.

Nice spot right on the beach and next door to lovely grassed areas. Visited on a Saturday afternoon for drinks, pizza and live music. The place was packed, but staff quickly found a table for our party of four. Reasonable prices for drinks and light food menu options. The prosciutto, fig and gorgonzola pizza was a highlight, and under $20.... More

Went for late lunch on a Sunday afternoon on a hot day in Melbourne. There's no doubting the position is great and the food was also really good. The service was quite fast, although you have to order your drinks from the bar. I would say its a very popular place and on a Sunday a big meeting point, so... More

We choose this restaurant for a simply lunch in front of the sea. The place is designed to be a busy place, we choose a table outside because the AC inside was too cold. The menu is simple and the food delicious. The prices are a a bit high. The staff is not too friendly. We recommend it for the... More

I ate here on the last night of my holiday in Melbourne in Feb 2015. I had one of the special's which was the beef ragu with pappardelle and salted ricotta and it was perfectly cooked, the beef melted in your mouth! For desert a fellow diner recommended the salted caramel parfait and ice cream which was also absolutely delicious... More

I went to Republica for lunch, it is a lovely restaurant & bar on the beach, and has a great atmosphere. The staff & service was good. I had seafood linguini, which was very good. & a local beer (saint kilda brew). I had a lovely relaxing afternoon, sat watching the surf whilst having lunch.

A great place for people in large groups to meet up and start the day, the food is good and the service is too. The only things I felt let down with was there were only a couple of beers on tap and we were in a group of 25 who were all buying food and drink but were still... More

If you get the chance to make a trip down to St Kilda the Republica is the one establishment that shouldn't be missed. It's beach side frontage makes for the ideal afternoon by the sand side. The venue is beautifully designed for outdoor entertaining, dining and Chillaxing. The food menu is extensive and the wine and beer choices are more... More

I went to Republica with a friend for after work drinks and dinner on a super hot Monday. It was lovely sitting outside and watching the world go by. We were very relaxed with our coronas and mojitos! I ordered the fish and chips which was good but not worth the $27 I paid...I suppose I was paying for the... More

Great place in front of the beach with a great terrace outside where to enjoy the view and weather, and another terrace inside when is too cold/windy to be at the other terrace. Great variety of beer/wine and very good (and cheap) chips and pizzas. There is live music sometimes. If you are lucky to get a table outside on... More
