Description: Embassy @ 97 has lovely, friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. There is a giant chalkboard with chalk and colouring pencils and colouring books available for the kids as well as magazines and newspapers for the rest of us. The food is good café food, ranging from eggs to focaccias. While there is no specific children's menu, the chef is happy to do smaller portions. There is no charge for baby chinos and they have a great everyday special of coffee with a freshly baked on premises muffin, for $5! Seating is bench-style and there are tables outside: both on the footpath and in a small courtyard, meaning t hat you can sit with a group. Also of note is that there is a tram-stop directly outside the door.

We were given a Groupon voucher by a friend for Christmas. After several attempts to make a reservation (since January 2104) at the restaurant, our requests were either completely ignored or the actual reservation was cancelled twice. We were told each time that the restaurant was not taking any reservations for customers with vouchers. In the last attempt, my partner... More

The food and atmosphere were very good. Prices were a bit on the high side, especially the wine, but good for a nice night out. Probably best to book ahead as there isn't much room.

Really tasty food and a nice atmosphere. The deserts were particularly tasty and it's definitely a restaurant I would return to.

Four of us went to this small cafe/restaurant for Sunday lunch and had a thoroughly enjoyable meal. The setting is very casual with tables inside and also in a small courtyard; we chose the courtyard which was cool and shady on a hot Melbourne afternoon. The menu is full of traditional french favourites. We chose four different entrees, each one... More

After an earlier mistake in our choice of eatery further up the street, my partner and I ended up eating at Embassy @ 97. The staff, surroundings and food were excellent. Friendly atmosphere and ambience. Great place for a meal. Expect to walk out weighing a bit more than you did when you went in!! Loved it

On a rainy day on fitzroy street, we stopped at this place with no expectation... and was just perfect, authentic with the open kitchen. Warm little bistro with French music. The food is very good, you feel like home as soon as you get in. Great service, and best crepe suzette! Merci.

As a dedicated consumer of salmon, I ordered this fish. I was served it and it was off - yes the fish tasted foul and had definitely seen better days. I sent it quietly back and told them it was off. The chef refused to acknowledge this and sent it back to me to be eaten. Feeling rather amazed, I... More
