Nice cake; coffee needs some work

St Kilda is the home of fantastic cake and coffee shops. I chose this because I wanted o try the baked Polish cheesecake. And the place looked a bit more old school than some of the others. The cake was good. I asked for a very hot flat white. Well, to call it 'tepid' would be too kind; it was... read more

We made the effort to visit an Acland Street bakery having read great reports on the delicious pastries to be had in this neighbourhood. We may have made unfortunate choices on this occasion on all accounts. We both found the cakes were really dry. Our fault for not complaining! However, the lack of ambience and disinterested waitress resulted in us... More

Old fashioned charm. A must when in St Kilda. We went for the famous 100 year old polish cheesecake and the kooglehoupf marble cake and were pleased with both. Yummy! Don't overlook this bakery as it's traditional and charming.

Good selection of yummy cakes, but coffee and cake for family of 4 was over $40! Wasn't a fan of the mock cream!

Very quaint and historical café in the heart of St Kilda. The display of quality cakes in the shop window draws you in. Like stepping into a bygone era with the historical décor and paraphernalia. Very good, happy service. Good coffee, great cakes. Recommend for sure!

The cakes were nice. I had the Polish cheese cake, vanilla bean cupcake and vanilla slice. The cheesecake wasn't bad but nothing special. The cupcake was gritty as though the icing mixture didn't disolve and the cake itself was a little overcooked but together with the icing it was quite nice. The vanilla slice was massive and really tastey but... More

A feast for the eyes awaits visitors to the main street in St Kilda with european influenced, owned and managed cake shops. Wow this little shop was like being there with the owner a friendly po Polish fellow with many photos of himself with famous visitors to the shops. Their signature cake is called kooglehoupf which is a chocolate yeast... More

Stopped there for a cup of coffee and it was the best decision of the day. You just can't beat the experience of Acland street, sitting at one of the outside table, watching the bustle, listening to the noise. Very relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, decent coffee and awesome cheesecake. Will have to come back to sample more of their cakes... More
