“Every now and then a restaurant meal can unexpectedly become a memorable dining experience for all the right reasons………sleek and cosy, stylish and inviting, the manner and knowledge of staff exemplary, with well chosen and superbly cooked side dishes and meat cooked to perfection” (Savour Australia judges review 2009)So where is the tapas you ask? Well we’re not really Spanish at all; the name has simply been retained for historical authenticity. The original Spanish Grill was a prominent feature of the old Grand Hotel and was a keen local patronage that closed in 1989. The new Spanish Bar & Grill has been created to remember the past and to evoke nostalgia for former patrons. We are delighted to carry on this Mildura tradition.Since 2006 The new Spanish Bar & Grill has been transformed into a must do dining experience for locals and visitors alike. After two state awards for Best Steak Restaurant this sophisticated yet reassuringly relaxed dining venue was in 2009 awarded the Savour Australia Award for Excellence as the Best Steak Restaurant in Australia. And yes we are extremely proud of this achievement. The centrepiece of the space is the unique red gum grill, with the sights, scents and sounds of the grill adding to the guest experience. The grill is not just a slice of entertainment, it is central to the wonderful and unique flavour of our steaks. Freshly fired each day, the grill uses handmade coal derived from dropped red gum and mallee roots lifted by farmers during clearing. The coals add a subtle flavour to the meat during cooking that cannot be replicated with traditional gas or electric grills.Providing an atmospheric link between Seasons and The new Spanish Bar & Grill is our Wine Bar. Open daily from 5.00pm you can choose to relax in our low slung leather lounges, or soak up the al fresco atmosphere of the vine covered arbour while savouring boutique beers or hand muddled cocktails. We recommend a classic with a local twist — the Blood Orange Caiprioska! With at least one sommelier always on duty finding your way around our extensive local and international wine list (over 200 offerings) is a treat.

Pleasant atmosphere Good food great service but not really Spanish

Had dinner after a big lunch so we wanted light meals -tapas and wine- not available. I had the pork & fennel sausages - tasty but a bit on the hot side for me. My husband had a steak -excellent. Good wine selection reasonable prices Suited to couples and small groups Staff were great

This eatery is attached to where I was staying and very convenient. I had dinner on two nights and it was fantastic. The service was amazing and very welcome on a business trip. The menu offers a good choice for all. They take American Express, this is a real problem when travelling in regional areas Will be back.

My husband booked for us on our wedding anniversary. We had a lovely meal (eye fillet is amazing!) Cooked perfect. We enjoyed the openness of the kitchen and being able to see the chef cook our meals. Dessert was fantastic too. Thank you.

Went there with friends to enjoy a great steak after 3 weeks on the road. The eye fillets were over cooked and inedible, the scotch was under cooked and fatty. Advised the wait staff that the food was of a poor standard and they blamed the butcher Gave us a bottle of wine as compensation, never again.

Had dinner at Spanish Grill and it was great. I must admit we did go in thinking that we would be able to order Spanish food (tapas) etc but found it was really just a steak house. That did not distract us from the evening though. The staff were wonderful and the atmosphere was very relaxed and pleasant for a... More

Booked for 7.30, seated at 8, waited over an hour and a half for cold entree, meat in main course was cold, ordered dessert it was burned and dry with no sauce remaining finally finished at 11pm. Have never seen such slow service, we won't go back.

Visited for dinner recently and whilst the food was pleasant it was not quite to the very high standard I expected. The entrees were not great however I had the Scotch Fillet steak and it was a lovely piece of meat. Whilst the wait staff were very friendly we waited throughout the night for drinks on a very hot day.... More

Very good food and a nice location. My scotch fillet was large, tender and superbly cooked. Salads and chips were excellent. Good atmosphere. My only observation, it was all a bit frantic. The owner was rushing around and everything seemed a bit stressed. It was a little off putting.
