“Every now and then a restaurant meal can unexpectedly become a memorable dining experience for all the right reasons………sleek and cosy, stylish and inviting, the manner and knowledge of staff exemplary, with well chosen and superbly cooked side dishes and meat cooked to perfection” (Savour Australia judges review 2009)So where is the tapas you ask? Well we’re not really Spanish at all; the name has simply been retained for historical authenticity. The original Spanish Grill was a prominent feature of the old Grand Hotel and was a keen local patronage that closed in 1989. The new Spanish Bar & Grill has been created to remember the past and to evoke nostalgia for former patrons. We are delighted to carry on this Mildura tradition.Since 2006 The new Spanish Bar & Grill has been transformed into a must do dining experience for locals and visitors alike. After two state awards for Best Steak Restaurant this sophisticated yet reassuringly relaxed dining venue was in 2009 awarded the Savour Australia Award for Excellence as the Best Steak Restaurant in Australia. And yes we are extremely proud of this achievement. The centrepiece of the space is the unique red gum grill, with the sights, scents and sounds of the grill adding to the guest experience. The grill is not just a slice of entertainment, it is central to the wonderful and unique flavour of our steaks. Freshly fired each day, the grill uses handmade coal derived from dropped red gum and mallee roots lifted by farmers during clearing. The coals add a subtle flavour to the meat during cooking that cannot be replicated with traditional gas or electric grills.Providing an atmospheric link between Seasons and The new Spanish Bar & Grill is our Wine Bar. Open daily from 5.00pm you can choose to relax in our low slung leather lounges, or soak up the al fresco atmosphere of the vine covered arbour while savouring boutique beers or hand muddled cocktails. We recommend a classic with a local twist — the Blood Orange Caiprioska! With at least one sommelier always on duty finding your way around our extensive local and international wine list (over 200 offerings) is a treat.

Excellent steaks

Pleasant restaurant specializes in steaks and does well. Very flavoursome and tender. A minor point thought the home made hot English mustard was a disappointment Good ambiance, staff did well but not a busy night

We stumbled upon this restaurant and were attracted by the Spanish name, however the menu didn't seem to reflect this cuisine. None-the-less the food was beautiful and the service excellent. My dinner companion and I both chose the steaks and when we couldn't choose between the sources the waiter said she would bring us one of each - this meant... More

After a day's driving my partner and I were really looking forward to a good meal. The Spanish bar and Grill, being attached to our accommodation at the Grand Hotel, was really convenient. more than this, however, it proved to be a really pleasant dining experience, with the duck confit starter and the beautifully succulent roast chicken main courses perfectly... My wife and I thought a nice meal was in order. My eye fillet was tough and contained gristle, my chips were black and soggy and I sent them back. Replacements were fine but arrived after I completed my ordinary steak. My wife said her chicken was ok and vegetables were great. Wait staff cheerful and attentive.

The staff were very attentive and helpful. Our steaks were cooked just as we ordered them. The dried fruit pudding was to die for. Would go again.

Got rated as one of the best eateries in Mildura (top 5 from memory) and I found it pleasant but average. Service was meh..... It wasn't bad but certainly doesn't deserve the top 5 rating.

Firstly this is less Spanish than the name suggests, they do have a blurb on the menu explaining the name. Still they offer some very nice Tapas style starters and they do have a mighty fine Sangria and mojito. The steaks are what you really come for and they do not dissapoint. A good selection of cuts and sizes ours were... More
