Formerly known as Stefano’s Restaurant this place in the cellars of Mildura’s Grand Hotel has been a favoured ‘special’ destination for us over several years. Our last visit was in June 2013 when the transition had begun. We enjoyed it then and we enjoyed it even more this time. It is now very different. Although the set price format remains,... More

Travelled with friends from Melbourne specially to dine at Stefano's again. At $175 per person + drinks, it's a very special treat. I wasn't exactly disappointed, but by halfway through our 4-hour long, 13-course degustation, I was longing for some of the straightforward, superbly prepared and presented food I had enjoyed at Stefano's on my previous 3 visits. To my... More

Arrived for pre dinner drinks that were dropped and spilt all over our dining table. Not a good start! Food was bizarre with combinations that did not mix e.g. Beef with ice cream! Variety is good but it must be done intelligently. All dishes were sweet and oily. Very poor selection showing no idea as to how to build such... More

Well, it's not often that "old folks" rave. We are fortunate to have had many wonderful meals all around the world with travel in many parts of Australia and internationally - and this meal has to be one of our best lifetime culinary experiences. Daniel the maitre d' and sommelier is passionate in his pursuit of knowledge about wines and... More

The service, food and ambience were as fine as anywhere in Australia, or overseas for that matter! But be prepared for 3 and a 1/2 hours for dinner! It was an unforgettable, special occasion. We had the 8 course degustation menu with matching wines. Amazing!

This is a degustation only restaurant, not cheap ($135 for 8 courses & $85 for matched wines) but worth it for an indulgent array of subtle dishes. Attentive and knowledgable staff explain each dish as it arrives. Liked the envelope at the end with a copy of the menu to take with you as a memento.

What can one say about such a brilliant restaurant as Stefano's. Words cannot do it justice. The food was magnificently thought out and beautifully presented with lots of locally sourced ingredients. The 8 courses were matched with some stunning wines. This was one of those few occasions in one's life to experience fine dining at it's best. The service was... More

We refused to be discouraged by a previous review and we are very glad we did! This is not the restaurant to onto if you are looking for budget priced "food". The idea is to taste something exquisite. Good things come in small packages, and each small package was an event to savour. The wine matching was exceptional and the... More
