We went to try out this well recommended restaurant as we were staying nearby. The venue, situated on the end of a pier in Geelong Bay was stunning with great views. The menu certainly sounded interesting although a bit fussy perhaps. We chose a range of the sharing menu dishes to get a broad experience. The 5 spice duck with... More

We were in Geelong for 6 days so we tried many many restaurants. The best one is Baveras. High quality of food, try the five spice duck....so yummy. Baveras has the nice view of ocean (booking is recommended).

We went on Monday of the cup weekend and it was clear that the restaurant hadn't anticipated the demand. Let's start with service. The 3 waiters struggled. Friendly yes. But the stress was showing in the youngest girl on drinks duty, and the grumpy chap, couldn't raise a smile if he found a $50 bill. The other young waitress that... More

I enjoyed a great lunch here last week. With no booking, the cheery owner/manager offered us the last window side table on a busy Friday lunchtime. Within half an hour the place was buzzing with the business lunch crowd, ladies who lunch and a few family gatherings. The atmosphere is casual (menu is printed on disposable sheets on your table),... More

Enjoyed a great evening here last Saturday night. Food is top notch, location and view superb. Service efficient and helpful. Recommended highly, one of Geelong's best restaurants.

The place itself is well set out overlooking the water below. However the menu and quality of the meals is average. Nothing really terrible but nothing that stands out either.

The service was excellent but three of our party of four thought the main course was average. The saganaki was disappointing too.

Bavaras is situated on the Geelong pier and provides dinners with an outstanding view over the bay. Complimenting the vista is a comprehensive menu, extensive wine list and attentive service.

As part of the restaurant, they have an outdoor fish and chippery where you can just order your fish and chips, and sit outside. The seating area was good and comfortable. the fish and chips were expensive for what you got, $13.00 for what anywhere else would average 8 or 9 at worst. $1.50 for a potatoe cake, now thats...
