Having had difficulty in getting into top-rated Bendigo restaurants last time we visited, I booked a fortnight in advance this time. The on-line booking seemed to have no effect, and in the end I called, so save yourself the trouble and call first. It was worth any trouble, however. It's a simply decorated, laid-back and unstuffy establishment designed for sharing,... More

We were a group of four visiting Bendigo for the weekend. This restaurant would not be out of place amongst the top cafe destinations in Melbourne. Loved the beetroot gnocchi, salmon sashimi, Brussels sprouts with hazel nuts and especially the duck curry. You must try the salted caramel ice cream with popcorn...Yum!!

Masons formula is to use mostly local ingredients (paddock to plate) in innovative dishes designed to be shared, My wife & I had two starters, 2 mains and two sides to share, which with the wisdom of hindsight was too much food. Goat Shoulder followed by slow cooked beef cheeks also proved an issue as the latter was wonderfully rich... More

I have been to Masons twice. We enjoyed it so much the first time that we booked again when we knew we were going to Bendigo. Both times we had the 'Roaming Menu' where you leave it up to the waiter to bring plates of different foods to the table. On both occasions there was plenty to eat. All produce... More

We opted to have a shared banquet and there was plenty for all. Great quality food and friendly staff.

Great place to eat, tourist friendly, you get the whole deal. The beef I ordered was well cooked, warm and spacious atmostphere.

Masons was a very cosy place for a cold night in Bendigo. The only real negative was the dreaded "two sittings" policy: this is "understandable" considering the restaurant's popularity. Good things - tables are well-spaced, staff are friendly, informed and informal, the food is prepared with flair, but because of the numbers of kitchen staff, it doesn't take too long... More

The food and service were really brilliant but having three starters and two mains plus two veg between two was too much. Go slowly.

I was looking to have lunch with my son who is studying in Bendigo. We both had a very nice lunch, I had the braised beef cheek which was presented with pride and was fantastic to look at, plus it tasted delicious, I also had a bite size burger which lived up to its name, but was still very tasty....
