Just a Saturday lunch with a friend. First impression a bit grubby and lacking any style. Self serve your own water, tried 3 glasses before we found a clean one. Finally waved down the waitress, mind you the place only sits about 20 inside so hard to be invisible! We both ordered Caesar salad, one with chicken, one no anchovies.... More

After a great lunch and fabulous coffee at the Bath Lane cafe around the corner we found this one. If your into cafes, great coffee and a little bit of travel come to Bendigo. Two new, really great coffee destinations discovered on the same day, fantastic! If l had the time l'd start a coffee blog.

was accosted by the manager of this poorly run cafe on a very busy footpath to pay an already paid bill. The service was slow, confusing and the order was wrong. I wrote to the manager and let him know of my dismay at his service only to have a caustic reply written in a very childish manner. Very VERY... More

Ate here for 3 days over Easter - found the staff very pleasant and they remembered us on our 2nd and 3rd visit. Found the food good, well priced, plenty of it and the iced coffee was excellent. Two days we just went back for a 2nd iced coffee. Toilet facilities clean. Would certainly recommend it and will return when... More

Great location on Mitchell St, lovely upstairs area. Service is very good most days and the food is lovely. There is also outdoor seating and room and tolerance of prams for any mums wanting to go for coffee with friends. :)

Been here a few times, the service is slow. I have had my orders made incorrectly both times I have been. To top it off I had a fly in my wrap. Menu is boring.

The coffee was ok - fairly ordinary and someone else said cramped, I agree. It is a bit close in there. Staff were friendly, but the coffee was just not that good. I would find another place if I was going again.

Nice little cafe with good ambiance let down a little by the food. We ordered a 'super breaky' and was disappointed to find that the mushrooms came out of tin and the wilted baby spinich that was listed on the menu had been left off and we had to request it. The chipolats (baby sasuage) was way too overcooked and... More

As others have said Cafe au Lait provides that bit extra of variety - especially with its breakfast menu. We lunched and were very satisfied with the quality of our dishes. Coffee was good too -nice and strong. The selection of sweets made for some difficult choices. Overall very good value considering the standard of the food. Downstairs can get... More
