My daughter and I discovered Bouchon last year when visiting for the Grace Kelly exhibition; this year it was my husband and I travelling and we actually stayed an extra night just to go to Bouchon. We were the only two customers for some hours, but gradually it filled to about one third full - an empty restaurant is a... More

As visitors to Bendigo, we were most impressed by this small French-style bistro with an interesting menu and good wine list (with both French and local wines, including an adequate range by the glass). I had the seared scallops entree and wagu skirt beef main course, which was not only flavoursome but surprisingly tender. My wife had the quail entree,... More

Wonderful dinner at this small bistro style restaurant. My wife and I were warmly greeted on a very frosty night by Laura. The restaurant seats maybe 25 people maximum and so provides a cosy atmosphere without being cramped. The food was excellent from the chef Travis. My wife had the cauliflower soup with truffle oil to start while I chose... More

I first visited Bouchon 2 years back - delightful experience and could not wait to get back. So the big night arrived last Saturday. Escargot and then the main course - a duck you would die for. Unfortunately about a third way of through the meal I discover a long black hair wrapped around the duck ! No big issue... More

This was our fourth visit to Bouchon, and we were greeted, by the loveliest waitress in Bendigo, like old friends (I'm not sure where the hotty hot hot male waiter has been?). We were seated in the prime 2 love seats at the front window. Perfect for watching the world/trams/cops go by. Our table was large enough to feel comfortable... More

Attentive and knowledgable service. Local produce well selected and well prepared. It's a shame they couldn't showcase some of the local cheese as well. Great setting. Will definitely join one of their cooking classes! How do they produce such brilliant food from that tiny kitchen?

It portrays itself as a French restaurant and maybe isn't that French but the standard and presentation of food would not be out of place in Paris or any other French city. Locally sourced steak and excellently prepared Barramundi were our main courses, and the desserts were extremely well presented. A great place to eat if you visit Bendigo. The... More

We had quite a pleasant meal with good service, but were slightly bemused by a lack of French food. Yes, there were snails, though we did not try them, and a very nice charcuterie board which we thoroughly enjoyed, but nothing else really screamed French. No French onion soup! The duck was rather average, the fish very nice, and throughout,... More

Hubby and I went to Bouchon for our 30th wedding anniversary. The menu, as commented by others, is short, but extremely well balanced and still created difficulties in making decisions as it all sounded wonderful. Eventually had oysters and carpaccio of beef for entrees, then shared the chateaubriand for main. Everything was beautifully cooked and presented. The wine list was... More

We discovered this little gem through a nearby restaurant who could not accommodate us because they were full! We really enjoyed the whole dining experience on our visit. The use of local produce is a real bonus! The menu had some great choices and the wine list impressive. This is one of Bendigo's better restaurants and should be on everyone's... More
