Good and reliabke

Ballarat isn't exactly renowned for its food scene but this is one of the more consistent places that I've never found disappointing. It won't blow you away, and there's nothing exciting about it, but the cafe is clean, food is good and it's pretty nice inside if it's a cold day. Nice is the word... read more

We stopped by for lunch with our two young children after reading the excellent Trip Advisor reviews and we were not disappointed. The staff were delightful and are are true credit to the cafe. We had the steak sandwich on their recommendation and while it was quite expensive ($19.50) it was well presented and delicious. The only reason I did... More

Wow, felt like I was in Europe. Coffee was strong, room was bustling. Loved every bit of this part of Victoria.

A great place for brunch or lunch with consistently great coffee. The menu is seasonal and doesn't fail to impress with warm risottos, delicious pastas and great breakfast options. It's got a warm and cosy atmosphere and a great place to go for dinner on a Friday night or coffee and cake on the weekend. Book ahead if there is... More

Wow! This place is great. Came here on a Friday lunchtime with my wife and young child. The staff bent over backwards to accommodate us and were so nice. The food was some of the best cafe food I've had since arriving in Australia 8 months ago and the coffee was also excellent. To top it all off the place... More

Quirky little cafe/bar/restaurant boasting great food, coffee & service. We had breakfast and tried the smashed avo & goats cheese with poached eggs and the corn fritter with Huon trout & eggs. Both were great dishes. So good, we returned the following day & tried the granola with rhubarb, and the scrambled eggs with Parmesan & brioche. If we lived... More

Imagine a Melbourne hipster cafe without the attitude. Instead add a bunch of friendly servers, plenty of great music to buy and hear, and a fantastic menu - that's L'Espresso. A great find and we'll be back.

I am from melbourne and have experienced better drinks but being in ballarat you do not have many options. This café when the sun is not out (which is most days) is rather dark the breakfast is reasonable but probably better for just drinks. Is open for dinner on fridays and is fully licensed. Overall the café is preety average.... More
