Cosy; great meal; attentive service

Sunday in Ballarat: we wandered the main street and dropped in for lunch. We'd heard it was good for coffee but were surprised how good it was for a meal. Service: welcoming and friendly from start to finish. Lots of tables outside on the footpath but plenty inside, too. Cosy but enough... read more

Have been here a number of times across the years and this place is unwaveringly good. The highlight is their coffee, which has always been brilliant, as good as anywhere in coffee-mecca Melbourne, although the real credit is due for their years of consistency (often NOT achieved in the big smoke!) Recently, I also had breakfast there and was impressed... More

Tables are close together with an assortment of vinyl records and CDs for sale. This small cafe which on a pleasant day had tables flowing onto the street is definitely the place to have a coffee, a snack and chat. It is great to see this type of cafe popping up in country towns. The coffee was excellent and the... More

Tables are rather close together in this small cafe/restaurant with a predominantly Italian menu. Lot of homemade(housemade) pasta. The scallops were delicious and the risotto fresh and astringent with peas/mint and artichokes. Slightly noisy so be prepared to shout. Central location and outside eating.

The best place to grab a wonderful coffee on the go. Rich and strong flavors, the coffee here is really good any time of the day. Also great milkshakes

This is a really cool little place and the breakfasts are brilliant, as is the coffee and service. Sit inside for the atmosphere

Stopped on our way back to Melbourne from holidays, reviews had this place highly rated & we weren't disappointed- great coffee, yummy brunch, but the best was the iced coffee- my new favourite - not sure if I want to know how they get it so creamy.

On a road trip with my lovely coffee snob boyfriend, my sister and her three kids and New Year's Day for 2016 meant coffee desperately needed. We found our saviour at L'Espresso along with delicious breakfast. The cafe is located in a gorgeous building with amazing ceiling roses and old coffee curios and cool vinyl albums. The boyfriend was highly... More

Driving home from Hobart to Adelaide, so quiet we were worried we would fail to find caffeine! Then we found this quirky Muso place chilled environment with great food and greater coffee!

We visited for dinner late December for a pre- Christmas catch up with friends. We have been visiting L'Espresso for many years now, and have seen many chefs and staff come and go. Whilst the conditions are cramped, the food never disappoints; it is always of a high standard. The coffee remains one of the best in Ballarat. Angela is... More
