Amazing italian

Best Bean soup, best seafood soup, best spinach and eggplant raviolis I have eaten in a long time. Service was excellent although we were lucky to get a table. It was very busy, but meals came without fuss. Great coffee and great spot!

We had the most enjoyable lunch - we were lucky, but I think it would be best to book ahead, very busy. The bean soup was hearty and very tasty, best I had eaten in a long time. The Spinach and Eggplant Ravioli was excellent. Seafood soup was to die for! Excellent coffee. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Have been back twice in the last month. I feel like I need a miners helmet to get around ( like the scene from " Silence of the Lambs"). Food the same. I find the service now quite average. ( breakfast only) . Ok. They have slipped in my mind.

We found this little treasure on a freezing Ballarat day. It was warm and cosy and the food was amazing. Highly recommended.

We had an overnight stay in Ballarat and based on TripAdvisor reviews we went to L'Espresso. First thing we noticed is that this is where the local bike riders have coffee - always a good indication. The cafe filled quickly with an eclectic mix of patrons. Breakfast menu was enticing, food was delivered quickly and was tasty. The coffee was... More

I came here for breakfast on a weekday, on my last day living in Ballarat actually and I should have come sooner. The best smashed avocado I've ever had, it was a huge serving, lots of avocado not a thin scraping like so many places offer, two eggs, two large slices of sourdough I almost couldn't finish it. And its... More

The place is always full of people, and this is already an indication. Very good food, excellent service and good central location.

This would have been five stars if the service had matched the food. We were greeted and seated quickly, orders taken and coffees delivered promptly, regretfully the food took a long time coming, but it was worth the wait.

L'Espresso in Ballarat has always been the best cafe in Ballarat and has always served the best coffee in town. I may be biased but I know that L'Espresso's core of long-time patron Ballaratians would concur. As a daytime venue from breakfast through to late afternoon tea it's just a winner. Nevertheless, they do open for dinner of a Friday... More

"It's a little gem!" It incorporates a very sophisticated record shop/collection and the owner Greg knows his stuff, both musically and food wise. The staff are courteous and unflappable. The menu is limited but diverse ...and quality. Local produce features as well. A gregarious wine list, with excellent coffee. A great place for breakfast and lunch, or to while away... More
