A nice place to visit, but not as nice in terms of value for money. Entrance fee, by far to expensive and you still have to pay extra to visit the mine. The restaurants inside are an exploitation, you pay for a plain hotdog in cold bread 6 dolares I mean this is pure robbery, Im talking about the Soverein... More

Refused when asked to sit elsewhere, waited 15 minutes for menus until taking own initiative to demand them. Finally when the food came I was given Salmon pasta instead of Beef and Lamb, with the excuse that they "ran out". I would think you would tell a customer first before you paid for it. This restaurant was a shame.

I visited Sovereign hill for the first time. It was if you stepped back in time and were actually there. Fantastic place and preserved to the Gold rush era, the reenactments of various events that took place was fantastic. The Hotel dining room & the food, especially the Devonshire tea was exceptional. The shops are set up to depict that... More

Pleasantly surprised with our visit. We got a Gold Pass that includes all three mine tours plus an extra 2 visits within 12 months. Highly recommend mine tours. Staff exceptional. Food from the Bakery was excellent. Really require a full day here, plus the complimentary second day visit to catch anything missed the first day. Lots of demonstrations throughout the... More

The whole experience was very very good. All staff we dealt with were wonderful. Shops, demonstrations, tours were very well done. Very educational and engaging. We did the dinner and light and sound show - loved it. Stayed at the accommodation which we also recommend - very easy. Back entrance in meant no lining up. Brilliant!

This is one of Ballarats best tourist attractions, you go back in time to see how the people lived, children schooled, the miners digging for gold the hard times they put up with.People dressed in period costumes, even the children at school, cottages to look in, watch the machinery working keeping Sovereign Hill going, Blacksmith, Pouring of Gold, Bowling alley,... Loved it, loved it, loved it. It was a beautiful day weather wise and the environment is so realistic to the 1850s. It was educational, enjoyable and fun. Staff dressed in period costume and were very friendly.

We did this on the school holidays and they had a special lights show with fake snow...honestly this was spectacular and I would highly recommend to do in the school holidays. It is expensive to get in we got.a discount with our hotel but it was an experience and the kids loved. Definitely do one of the underground tours it... More

Perfect for a wedding or function. The venue is just beautiful, being able to choose from many different rooms for your function, plus being able to use the gorgeous grounds! I saw this in the absolute weddings magazine & just loved it!

Sovereign Hill is a great day out for the family. Plenty to see and do, and even more to learn about life on the Victorian goldfield all those years ago. Good selection of food available around the park. Christmas in July was being celebrated during my visit - the light show in the evening was a sight to behold, and... More
