I really liked sovereign hill and thought it was fun. But don't go on school days, because all the school groups come and it gets very crowded and some of the shows they had no seats left because there were to many school groups, cans a tip is to bring your on lunch because the kiosk is overpriced... read more

We ate at the Victorian Theatre dining room. Was a little confused at first as there was no wait staff to greet us but someone appeared rather quickly and invited us to sit at any table we liked. I had the ploughmans plate which sounded interesting however when it came out I thought it looked a little small. But when... More

My husband & I spent 2 days looking around Sovereign Hill, it's an awesome must see when in Ballarat! The gold pouring, coach ride & having our photo taken dressed in the attire of the time, so many things to see & do. This is an amazing place stepping back in time learning & seeing what life was like circa... More

A nice place to visit, but not as nice in terms of value for money. Entrance fee, by far to expensive and you still have to pay extra to visit the mine. The restaurants inside are an exploitation, you pay for a plain hotdog in cold bread 6 dolares I mean this is pure robbery, Im talking about the Soverein... More

Refused when asked to sit elsewhere, waited 15 minutes for menus until taking own initiative to demand them. Finally when the food came I was given Salmon pasta instead of Beef and Lamb, with the excuse that they "ran out". I would think you would tell a customer first before you paid for it. This restaurant was a shame.

I visited Sovereign hill for the first time. It was if you stepped back in time and were actually there. Fantastic place and preserved to the Gold rush era, the reenactments of various events that took place was fantastic. The Hotel dining room & the food, especially the Devonshire tea was exceptional. The shops are set up to depict that... More

Pleasantly surprised with our visit. We got a Gold Pass that includes all three mine tours plus an extra 2 visits within 12 months. Highly recommend mine tours. Staff exceptional. Food from the Bakery was excellent. Really require a full day here, plus the complimentary second day visit to catch anything missed the first day. Lots of demonstrations throughout the... More

The whole experience was very very good. All staff we dealt with were wonderful. Shops, demonstrations, tours were very well done. Very educational and engaging. We did the dinner and light and sound show - loved it. Stayed at the accommodation which we also recommend - very easy. Back entrance in meant no lining up. Brilliant!

This is one of Ballarats best tourist attractions, you go back in time to see how the people lived, children schooled, the miners digging for gold the hard times they put up with.People dressed in period costumes, even the children at school, cottages to look in, watch the machinery working keeping Sovereign Hill going, Blacksmith, Pouring of Gold, Bowling alley,...
