Sovereign Hill is a great day out for the family. Plenty to see and do, and even more to learn about life on the Victorian goldfield all those years ago. Good selection of food available around the park. Christmas in July was being celebrated during my visit - the light show in the evening was a sight to behold, and... More

Really enjoy the experience. Stayed at the Comfort Inn Sovereign Hill which enabled entry from a special hotel entrance. The actors and demonstrations were awesome. It was like stepping back in time to the days of the early colony. A really authentic experience and highly recommended!

Was keen to see Sovereign Hill, however my experience was somewhat dampened because of the 2000 + Indian Amway reps that visited on the same day......Needless to say it was extremely busy & difficult to really enjoy it. It was however worth a look & the evening show was interesting, we had the meal also which was nice. Definitely worth... More

Sovereign Hill is a fantastic place, its like walking back in time. Every attraction is different and well done. There is much to learn and by the end of the day you just don't want to leave. Our kids loved the gold panning, candle making, pantomimes and coach ride. Its really interesting to discover how life was in the mining... More

I have visited here often since becoming a member - which worked out cheaper - I especially loved the Chinese New Year celebrations and the Chinese philharmonic orchestral performance at the theatre - really beautiful - I would see these anywhere - such unusual instruments! I always enjoy the candles and old fashioned bits and bods that you can pick... More

This is our4 trip to Sovereign Hill and the Hope Bakery still make the BEST meat pies we've ever eaten. They have the standard meat pies and even a lamb stew pie which was my favourite. The sausage role and veggie pasties are also tasty too but do try to go early to avoid them selling out. Great friendly service... More

The meat pies we ate from the bakery were very good. These have been some of the best we've tried since arriving in Australia.

We booked in for the heritage package of a night in the Comfort Inn hotel, an evening meal in Sovereign Hill followed by the sound and light show. We were told that we had a choice of either lamb or chicken for the main course. Three of the four of us had decided we would like the lamb. Imagine our... More

This review is about the cafe located within Sovereign hill since this panel is under the restaurant/ food icon. There is a second Sovereign hill review panel under the "attractions" in Ballarat which some of the previous reviews should have been under! The cafe has a large capacity seating area, both indoors and out. Food is a cafeteria style line... More

We really enjoyed our day. The mine tour, shows, street performers where excellent. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. You could see all the staff loved their jobs. The food was well priced and you have a few places to choose from to eat. We had our old time photo taken and it was no dearer than any where else... More
