Great little cafe in interesting building

I really like this place. The building is architecturally interesting, as the name suggests. There are inside or street tables. The cafe is clean and bright, the staff friendly and efficient. We used to go here for a late lunch with no issues, however we went at 2:30 today (on a Friday) and were given a menu called ""afternoon snacks menu". When we asked for the lunch menu (because we always order from this), we were told that it was too late for lunch and we could only order items off... More

My husband and i eat here twice a month ss we drive through to Robe SA. Every meal has been excellent but not our last visit. My lamb was tough, on a bed of cous cous and little else. Took forever to come and wanting to have a sweet had to get up and order at counter. When leaving ,... More

The Turret is often frequented by MAMIL's after their strenuous ride on the weekend where they obstruct traffic on the Western Highway by riding four abreast! Need I say more? Has that people from Wendouree Parade only aura.

We often have Breakfast here on a weekend. The food is freshly cooked to your liking. The coffee always lovely and hot as well. Staff always courteous and friendly. Service is always with a smile. Even the owner will come and chat and ask how your meal was. You certainly don't get that in other places. Keep up the great... More

I ordered the country breakfast; two poached eggs, bacon, mushrooms, sausages on soar dough bread and the order came with a chutney and freshly squeezed orange juice - It was magnificent. Lovely friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere. I will go there again next time I'm passing through.

My two friend's and I met for Mother's day lunch and very disappointed with the service and meals. We all ordered ginger beers for drinks which my two friends were served first with a glass.I was given a bottle and asked if I'd like a glass????? One friend ordered a quiche which was barely an inch high, the other ordered... More

The cafe was buzzing with patrons when we arrived for lunch yesterday, being Easter Monday. We were prompted seated and our drink order was taken immediately. The staff were very friendly and welcoming from the outset. The coffees arrived, but they were too hot. Once it cooled down, you could taste the coffee blend. It was very good. The soy... More

Visited on Good Friday, late in the day and not long before closing. The staff could not have been more welcoming and attentive. We had savoury scones with house made relish and words fail me (and they usually don't!) for how good they were. Exellent sweet treats and coffee followed.

I've been here a number of times, and when I first starting coming here it was fantastic, but last few visits not as good. Ordered Eggs Benedict, which is something I order regularly at cafes, but haven't had here before. Yolks almost solid, apart from the teeniest amount of goo in the centre. More like a boiled egg than a... More
