Beautiful Cafe

The cafe was buzzing with patrons when we arrived for lunch yesterday, being Easter Monday. We were prompted seated and our drink order was taken immediately. The staff were very friendly and welcoming from the outset. The coffees arrived, but they were too hot. Once it cooled down, you could... read more

Visited on Good Friday, late in the day and not long before closing. The staff could not have been more welcoming and attentive. We had savoury scones with house made relish and words fail me (and they usually don't!) for how good they were. Exellent sweet treats and coffee followed.

I've been here a number of times, and when I first starting coming here it was fantastic, but last few visits not as good. Ordered Eggs Benedict, which is something I order regularly at cafes, but haven't had here before. Yolks almost solid, apart from the teeniest amount of goo in the centre. More like a boiled egg than a... More

Stopped at The Turret for coffee this morning; hadn't been there before. Will definitely have this Cafe on our list to visit as often as possible. Very yummy pancakes with lemon butter and Ice cream for me and Croissants with jam and butter for Hubby ... and excellent coffee. Extremely busy cafe and I can see why. Service, staff and... More

The cafe is gorgeous, in a great spot and accessible. The food options were very impressive (especially in the area of Gluten free) and the service was fantastic. I could not leave without also getting some of the jam and gluten free florentines. Can't wait to go back.

Decided we needed a coffee and cake and TheTurret Cafe was looking good to us. Great coffee and the carrot cake were divine and one can get half serves too, which is always nice as servings can be way too big. The charming gent that served us was exceptional. This is a great place with good service and menu choices.... More

I often stop by here for coffee and lunch on business trips and the meals are always excellent with a constantly varied menu. The staff are friendly and efficient. I have regularly ordered lunch catering from here and it is always fresh, well presented and well priced. They have made a great space out of the old building right on... More

I Often have to stay in Ballarat on business & love having breakfast at the Turret cafe. Right on the main drag, it has a welcoming atmosphere & is very cosy in winter. The eggs Benedict are a favourite. Food is good & always well presented.

Had breakfast here in this busy centrally located on main street cafe obvious by the turrets on the buildng hence the name. Good variety of food available as well as items to purchase to take away, coffee of good standard, service friendly and food tasty and lots of variety on menu. Busy cafe and although a bit on the pricy... More

The Turret is a pretty cool little cafe. Very relaxed atmosphere, great coffees and nice loungey area to enjoy a quiet chat with a friend. Their food was prepared on site and delicious. Nice pastries, sandwiches and rolls, as well as focaccias and more. It's wonderful to see such a lovely atmospheric cafe in the historic Ballarat Fire Brigade building!... More
