Probably the worst Indian food I've ever had

We had a take away. Tandoori chicken, lamb chops, chicken tikka, chicken tikka Masala, lamb madras, butter prawns, goa veg curry... bland curries, vinegar tasting chicken, watery raita. The only redeeming feature were the crispy naans. Nice people by the counter but I'm really surprised at... read more

When we are going out with friends and wanting a good night out or our boys are home we often turn to Pickled Evenings. It has fabulous food, exceptional service and very nice surroundings. We have a Pickled Evenings Reward Card which gives us 10% off our entire bill as well. Very tasty Indian food.

We enjoyed the newly introduced lunchtime box.. It was very good and well presented. My husband who is not a curry fan enjoyed the tasty meal he ordered. We both enjoyed the yummo breads. It goes without saying we would venture back soon.

Party of 4 visited this restaurant last Saturday. Ordered a selection from the menu such as lamb rogan josh, butter chicken, goani fish, selection of naan breads and samosas. Every dish was excellent and highly commented on by our party, three of whom have travelled extensively in India. Big disappointment was to 50 minute wait from placement of order to... More

The food here was exceptional. The lamb cutlets were charred to perfection , and fish tikka was just divine. I never thought I would ever see entrees like they make them in India , but these guys made me change my mind. For mains we had the lamb rogan josh n madras chicken, and again they nailed it. Finally a... More

We three passed on starters and went straight to Butter Chicken, Lamb Shank and Lamb Madras with sides of Dal Tadka and Palak Kofta, along with plain rice and bread. All dishes were very flavoursome and service reasonably swift given all tables were occupied on a Monday evening. Prices fine given portions were generous. I eat a lot of Indian... More

This has been our Indian of choice for some time in Launceston, but tonight was so bad i felt compelled to actually join just to vent. We wont be back in a hurry. We had takeaway - yrs this reduces quality (time to serve, temperature, etc) - however the food we received was virtually inedible. I genuinely think maccas would... More

I brought two vegetarian friends here for dinner. I usually eat meat here. It was absolutely delicious. We shared the Samosas for entree and they were absolutely mouth watering. Then we had 3 curries. Palak Kofta which was spinach and potato balls cooked in a creamy spinach sauce which was rich and scrummy. Goani Vegetable curry which we asked to... More

Cannot fault the food or service here. My husband and I are vegan and there were so many meal options to choose from that fit within our dietary guidelines. Really, really yummy food. A little on the pricey side given the not so large portion sizes, but we would definitely dine here again.

We always enjoy visiting Pickled Evenings as the food is always of a good standard and service is friendly and efficient. The Lamb Madras, Butter Chicken and Kashmiri Naan always comes up a winner. My only gripe would be that most of the curry dishes' level of "curry heat" seem to be on the mild side.
