I went with 2 friends for a meal in the Indian Empire. I normally wouldn't spend $20 eating out but the quality of the food made it worth it. I spent a few months in India so I know what good Indian food is and this was up there with anything I had. We all shared the 3 dishes and... More

I often go to this restaurant as it's so reliable regarding service, food and atmosphere. As it is a family business, you almost feel as if you are a part of the family. No matter what you order, it is always delicious. Most importantly, it is still a BYO and the food sizes are more than adequate. I never leave... More

We're really fussy with Indian food. I ate here 1 year ago and had a great biryani. It didn't disappoint this time. The Goan fish and pilaf were soooo tasty. The Zafrani (?) lassi and spiced tea were also delicious. It's not particularly cheap, but I think this reflects Tasmanian process in general. It's at least as good as the... More

had a meal here with another couple. Meal was more than adequate and reasonably priced. Main courses were not overly large but we did not leave hungry. Did not have dessert.

Excellent food, onion bhajis and garlic naan especially good. Good value for money and really pleasant staff. Best Induan I've had in a while.

Very disappointed. Had seen the good reviews and was looking forward to a really good meal. The food was average at best. The butter chicken tasted like chicken swimming in tinned tomato soup. Saffron rice was not very saffron. The staff were very friendly and it was a lovely atmosphere but we left without finishing our meal. Won't be eating... More

Pleasantly surprised with this menu. It is quite extensive featuring more than what l have seen in Melbourne. I had take away which I should have phoned through but the wait was not too long. Close the Quest Apartments and their guests. The servings are generous and the chefs speciality dishes personalized his special dishes.

I had take-out tikka masala, garlic naan and raita. It was ready quickly and delicious! They were also really nice and the restaurant was packed, so it is definitely popular. Very decent price too.

Unpretentious restaurant, with good food, and adequate wine list. Good value for money; spicy if you want spice, but not OTT. We have enjoyed a lot of the dishes, especially dishes like the Vindaloo and Madras curries. Not usually booked out, as Launceston tends to struggle with hot food. Staff pleasant, and service fine.

Ate here because a lot of other restaurants were to busy with football crowds. Glad we did. I had the chilli chicken which was the best one I've had in Australia. My wife had the butter chicken which was ok, but the sauce had a bit much of a tomato base. Garlic naan was good. No frills Indian that was... More
