Great food

The menu was extensive and service was friendly. We shared vegetable pakoras ($6.90) for entree. They were OK, but not great. The mains were much better – creamy malai kofta ($15.90) and a very tender and well spiced beef madras ($18.90). The rice ($5.80) grains were well separated, and a... read more

Best Indian have had in a very long time. Reasonable prices, friendly & efficient waiting staff. Restaurant was warm on a very cold Tasmania night. The food was fresh, tasted beautifully spiced. Would return & recommend!

Nice food. Menus handed over, not asked for a drink. Order taken, had to ask for drinks. Food nice, first drink consumed before mains. Three waiters standing around looking for something to do. Three empty glasses for entire course. No offer of desserts or coffee nor drinks. Drinks equal profit Dear Owner!

The atmosphere and décor set a delightful scene to enjoy a fabulous meal. We started off with the sizzling tandoori platter and we were given a variety of chicken, lamb and pork pieces which all just melted in the mouth. For main I had beef vindaloo which had enough heat to let you enjoy the flavour of all the spices... More

I simply must tell you all about Indian Empire. My wife and I have been eating here for about 8 years now, and have introduced it to many friends and family members. It has to be the best food I have had anywhere in Tasmania, and quite frankly, I am hesitant to eat any where else in this city. While... More

We ate here on Good Friday when were we in Launceston and really there was very little to choose from not surprisingly. I really like Indian food but don't eat it all that often but was disappointed in this meal. Perhaps I didn't choose all that well, we had Madras Beef Curry and Lamb Rogan Josh from memory and really... More

The request we made was spice and Rice and this is what we got. It was a cosy restaurant, which seemed a family affair, the food was very good and of a medium heat. The service was also good.
