We had seen a review on TV about this restaurant and so decided to dine here when we had the opportunity to visit Launceston. A classic old building on the river, great service and ambience. I loved the saltbush lamb and my husband loved the wallaby in Asian sauces. We took our 20 yo son and it was a great... More

From the moment we walked in we knew we were in for a lovely night. The atmosphere is very welcoming, the staff are very attentive. We chose the 6 course tasting menu with matched wines as this had been recommended to us by friends - we were definitely not disappointed. Every single course was better than we had expected. Would... More

Good quality, tasty food in a nice location. Visited for brunch during mid-week without the crowds I would normally expect in a restaurant of this quality. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the food was without complaint. Stop by here on your way to or from the Cataract Gorge. Sit in the annex facing the river and enjoy the... More

Stillwater is a wonderful venue, situated in an old mill with most of the original fittings and old wooden beams creatively restored. I recently attended a private dinner there, held in a cellar room, surrounded by their excellent wine collection and featuring a gaol-style barred window and doorway, offset by a large, window-framed mirror that gave the room extra depth.... I returned to Stillwater last weekend, and was disappointed to see the restaurant had changed its menu, it used to be fabulous. I was so disappointed but the worst is the hide to charge $9.50 for a piece of toast with a $30.00 meal, wake up stillwater you are losing clients. Gary

We had breakfast here. The food was really nice and enjoyable, but we both felt like it was very expensive considering what the dishes were like.

The restaurant is in a lovely old building with some window tables and river views. Service was good and well paced throughout. The a la carte menu is short, about 4 choices per course. Nearly all the desserts, I think 3 out of 4 on the night we visited contained some form of chocolate. Personally, I was disappointed by the... More

Never seen a dozen mixed magnificent oysters served so elegantly and innovatively. All the meal was just wonderful and Simon's help to match wines with the food was professional, helpful, and spot-on each time. Nearly a month late, we still talk about aspects of the meal, it was so good. We would definitely go back again next time we were... More

Review My husband and I visited Still Water as a special treat for our wedding anniversary a couple of weekends ago and were overwhelmed by how amazing the experience was. We opted for the 5 course tasting menu + wines, which admittedly was quite pricey and not our normal spend but we thought we'd splurge given it was our anniversary.... More
