We were looking forward to Novaro's because of the glowing reviews and initial impressions of the setting were good. However, we were disappointed by both food and service. The food did not live up to its fancy Italian titles and the prices charged. An entree of "Creme frutti brodo, Creamy seafood" soup was a thin tomato broth with bits of... More

We were recommended to dine at Novaros. We were not disappointed. Lovely intimate atmosphere, generous, delicious, fresh seafood and mouthwatering deserts. The complimentary soup and professional, friendly service, set the scene for a wonderful dining experience. Congratulations Sarah, you made us feel so welcome.......like we were dining at a friends house. Definitely come back to Novaros next time we're in... More

Novaro's is small, but well thought out in both space and menu. We were lucky enough to be given a gift voucher for our first meal here and were ultimately sorry that we did what most people do with gift vouchers - leave them too long before using! We really wish we had 'discovered' Novaro's earlier! Warm and intimate, the... More

We decided to dine here on our last night in Tasmania. The whole experience was a perfect end to a wonderful holiday. Each course was freshly prepared and so full of flavour. Staff were attentive and helped to match wines to the meals. Save room for dessert. Both were delectable. A perfectly lovely evening.

Our last night in Launceston and after looking up restaurants on the internet we came across Novaro's. We didn't book but turned up fairly early at 6:15pm. By the time we left the restaurant on a Monday evening was buzzing. Pete and Sarah were run off their feet but they made everyone feel so welcome and certainly not neglected. The... More

We were able to walk in and get a table on a cold, wet Friday night. The food was delicious, the service was good and we appreciated the complimentry serving of cauliflower soup. An unexpected treat!

Extremely disappointing experience. The wine list was misleading and quite pricey. Ordered the "special" of the day, scallops. Food was rushed out as if we were having a pre-movie snack. Arrived looking like a bowl of cat food. Presentation was lacking in the extreme. Seated in a cramped hallway. My husband had a great view of the sous chef in... More

Dear Muttibear, I thank you for the time to review our restaurant, but I am bitterly disappointed with your comments. It was clear to me on the evening of your experience you misunderstood the wine list pricing as you bought the particular problem to our attention. I might just quickly add that I have always written my wine list in... More

I booked dinner for a large group of work colleagues after completing a Launceston Ghost tour. Prior to the night I had great communication with the owner Sarah and the level of service was already outstanding. On the night the tour went over by an hour, I called the to let them know we were running late and everything from... More

The atmosphere of this Edwardian house was elegant and cosy. The service was friendly and accommodating. The food was authentic Italian and delicious. The seafood spaghetti was a standout - chargrilled fresh seafood, al dente pasta and sumptuous olive oil, with oysters as entree - fresh and delicious. And topped off with Limoncello at the end. Highly recommended for a... More
