I always make sure I stop in here for dinner when I am in Launceston. This restaurant is perfect for business dinners, special occasions and romantic encounters. Small setting which allows for intimate settings and fast service. Offers delicious food, well presented which tastes as good as it looks. I do prefer the winter menu versus the summer menu as... Had the absolute pleasure of dining at Novaros again tonight. I was tempted to have my usual favourite fare but decided to branch out. The Pork and Veal meat balls were great - just what I wanted. My wife had the Angus Beef and it was so good!! For dessert I had the trio of home made ice cream. Being... More

I just moved over from the mainland and live now in Launceston. My friend came to visit from Hobart and we chose well in booking a table at Novaro. All of us enjoyed plump fresh scallops, Duck and fresh fish. With my hospitality background I must say it's top quality food and a cosy atmosphere. Will definitely return. Please be... More

Had a very happy ending of our Tasmania trip. We went there at 6:15pm without booking and they were very helpful to re-arrange the tables and offer us a table of 6 people until 8:00pm. They were so efficient that all the food were on the table at 6:45pm and we even have time for desserts and coffee. All the... More

This restaurant is a really lovely neighbourhood gem. Set up inside an old style (Edwardian or Victorian) little terrace house, the inside is very cosy and intimate. We had dinner here during our Tasmania trip and our stop in Launceston. The escargot was a highlight. The dishes are small plates and best to share and we really enjoyed every single... More

My partner and I dined here last week to celebrate a certain birthday. Was struck by the realisation that of course the food is pretty important in ranking any restaurant but the overall package is what really causes the diner to leave happy or other wise. Service was friendly ( in contrast to certain other establishments ; I still recall... More

Being that there are several courses on offer on the menu it made me think that the portion sizes would be small, but I was certainly wrong. Both my entree and mains were quite large, so much so that I didn't mind that they had forgotten I'd ordered and antipasti as I wouldn't have been able to fit it all... More

A lovely restaurant with great ambiance in one on Launceston's many charming old buildings. The service was excellent, even with a table of 6 people. The scallop entre was delectable. Highly recommended.

A couple of "tired" travellers, looking for something special for our last night in Tassie, we were lucky enough to secure a table for two after a cancellation. What an experience! Housed in a wonderful classic (definitely not "tired") Launceston property, this restaurant is right up there with the best in the country. We dined on fresh East Coast oysters,... More
