My partner and I went here for our anniversary dinner. It was amazing. The menu has something to cater for all tastes, from your simple stir fry to whole crayfish. The meals were just delicious and the service was 5 star, we really felt like royalty. Cannot recommend this business enough, it is guaranteed to leave you with happy memories.

So looking forward to our meal here with 2 friends to celebrate Hubbies' Birthday, OMG the service is so swift, we had at least 4 men rushing to our table every time our glasses were down 2 sips, dirty plates cleared before you had time to lick your lips, we found this quite uncomfortable. We asked for a large special... More

Went with our two young boys. The staff treated them like young princes and they responded in turn. The wine list was exceptional and accessible. Something for everyone from the family of tourists to the local mining magnate celebrating the big deal. And the food! "Classic" Chinese but executed to perfection with a focus on the finest seafood and produce... More

Only in a quiet town like Launceston would you see fine dining work with Chinese food. And by fine, I mean well trained waiters and lovely environment. But that comes with the high prices and small portions. Food: The ginger and shallot lobster was really nice. Also had wagyu beef and different fried rices - all came in small portions... More

My husband and I enjoy the upper class service and food here to such an extent that we are regular patrons . In fact every Friday unless away. From seafood to Wagu steak .the menu is extensive. The food beautifully presented. For example the seafood includes whole flounder, prawns, bugs, crayfish, calamari, oysters, scallops, and normal seasonal fish. Each species is done in a way not seen... Seafood birds nest $36 - a favourite dish which we order often at a variety of Chinese restaurants. This one was the smallest & most expensive we have ever had. It was nice but not for the price. All food good however hovering waiters was a little off putting but good service. Meal took quite a while to come out... More

I had high hopes of our first meal in Launceston and this restaurant didn't disappoint. I telephoned and easily ordered off the online menu (google the restaurant, the menu links on lots of restaurant-review websites take you nowhere). When informed that my order meant I scored free dim sims, I declined as we're not big fans and was immediately offered... More

I was attending the Bofa Film Festival, and had a couple of hours to kill between films, so toddled over the road to this renowned Chinese restaurant. Stuff all people in here on a Saturday arvo, but then again, it was a pretty lush day outside and I expect people eere taking advantage of it. First off came Moreton Bay... More

I havent been to the Me Wah for several years and returned last week. The staff are very polite and efficient and a most gracious host in Stanley still remembered us. The entree ordered was curry puffs which were overcooked (nearly burnt) and the vegetarian spring roll were similar . Mains were fantastic and the sweets including the fried ice... More

It is no wonder this establishment has been called Australia's Best Chinese Restaurant, why you ask ?, because IT IS THE BEST ! The atmosphere, unobtrusive service, a very good knowledge of wines make this one special place. I personally have never seen a place like this, even with my travels to Vietnam, Manilla and many other Asian countries. I... More
