Good menu choice and big portions. The all you can eat salad bar is fantastic, really good quality salads and really tasty, big selection. If your hungry go here. Décor is pretty standard.

If you're a meat eater! Pretty funny that there's a Vegan/animals rights poster visible from the window; probably no accident! Famous Launceston steak grill, much better value than other big cities. We had 2 kinds of steaks and 1 half duck for the 3 of us. All were excellent, beautifully cooked and very tasty. Salad bar has very good variety... More

This quirky restaurant in the City is a must for Tasmanian Steak at its very best. This was a return visit after 5 years, same atmosphere, same great all you can eat salad bar to accompany or get before your delicious steak and roast potatoes. If you have the same likes as me you will not pass on the Oyster Kilpatrick good... More

My first visit to Tasmania, this restaurant was recommended by our taxi driver, and overall we had a fantastic experience. The oysters were actually really famous (ie. quite good), our steak was perfectly cooked, and a great size. Although the all-you-can-eat salad bar gives the restaurant a bit of a 'sizzler' vibe, the service was exceptional and it was the... More

The steaks here are very good - quality meat and well cooked to the level we requested. The salad bar is excellent too, and solves the problem of sides.

If you like a nice "quiet" meal this is probably not for you. Otherwise don't miss out. Tons of atmosphere. Food is good. Service great and full of life.

We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel as a family friendly restaurant. It is family friendly but not price wise for a family of five. Our total bill came to $150 with 3 alcoholic beverages, water for the kids and mains for all of us. For a small eye fillet with a help yourself salad bar and half of... More

This is just a local style restaurant. Right in Launceston City centre, just 5 minutes walk from Myers Department Store. The steak is OK with self service salad bar, limited choice and average quality. Service is not good, a bit disappointed. May consider only during Sundays when there are not much choices.

As most restaurant were closed during the Christmas Holidays, Jail House was opened and needless to say it was packed. Service was expected to be slow but it wasn't too bad. I am not a big eater but the portion is really small, perhaps they expected us to have something from the salad bar which we didn't. Food is very... More
