Another place to try if you are in Launceston

This is a place that we had been planning to for a long long time and finally we made it. Nothing special fir me, but I am happy I had a go. Not a variety in the menu.

Quite a nice restaurant any good seafood dinner experience overlooking the harbor, and the fish used for the fish and chips is quite amazing. The wine list is limited and the server admitted she didn't like Shiraz so she wasn't very helpful in that department. We were disappointed the server didn't provide a tasting of the wine but continued to... More

Beautiful uniquely styled restaurant with mouth watering meals. We shared the tasting plate which was delicious, the only fault, I wanted another one! But when my salmon main arrived I was glad I saved room. It was cooked to perfection with the perfect summer accompaniments (nectarine, prosciutto, pomegranate..). Not that I needed more, but I couldn't resist the chocolate salted... More

Have dined at Hallam's previously and found fish quite good but over-priced. Went there the other night with friends and the whole experience was disappointing. For a restaurant in Tasmania not to be able to serve up a premium fish is incredibly bad form. My friend and I opted for the Tempura fish which was Elephant Fish (Shark) which I... More

My wife and I recently shared a seafood platter with a great beetroot salad and wine for lunch. Great location, great service and simple, but great food. Thumbs up guys. A must do if you are travelling to Launceston.

A busy restaurant because the quality of the food is so high. The prices are very fair and the sea food second to none. Excellent.

Dined at Hallam's many times previously and is usually the highlight of our trip to Launceston but this time not so good. Drinks came out quickly but was long wait before food order taken. My partner's entrée of octopus very small for the price ($18), but my entrée of seafood chowder quite good. Had main of salmon which was overpowered... More

We found this restaurant disappointing because of the lack of choice in seafood. Only one variety of fresh fish was offered (plus shark, which doesn't count with us). Also, there were no Tasmanian scallop dishes on the menu or local crayfish (lobster). This is in an area where there is an abundant supply of freshly caught fish and seafood. We... More

The food we had here last night was really wonderful. Well-cooked, fresh sea-food. Delicious. The kitchen staff are, though, let down by the front of house staff who were really incredibly inattentive. I don't expect restaurant workers who are constantly available but on more than one occasion we had to get up and go ask for stuff - napkins, dessert... More

We dined with friends on a busy weekend in Launceston so were pleased to be able to get a table for our large group. Service was efficient and pleasant and our drink order quickly filled. The food was generally good, nice entrees of fresh oysters, great salt and pepper calamari and it was wonderful to see abalone on the menu... More
