Met up with friends at this restaurant after being away for a few years think it was the same as it use to be which was great. Bit of a disappointment with value for money. Atmosphere and decor still the same which is nice and the service is still good, however the prices are going through the roof. You pay... More

Hallam's was a very welcome find after having been disappointed by a couple of supposedly higher end restaurants in Launceston. The food was absolutely superb - haven't had a meal that good in several years! The surprising thing is that from the outside it looks like a run-of-the-mill dockside seafood restaurant. Inside, it's completely re-done in a modern style, and... More

Lovely meal at Hallams. Definately more upmarket than a few years ago, much more modern Australian dining experience as far as the food is concerned. Would have liked a few more than two items to choose from for the children - both seafood options.

On our first night we were in Launceston we decided to have dinner at the Hallam's waterfront restuarant. Bookings were essential and we made a last minute booking at six. We only ordered seafood and the fish of the day was excellent and the fish and chips basked was very good as well if not a little bit to oily.... More

This is a favourite for dining out, and the presentation is always lovely. I chose their poached salmon nicoise salad and it was delicious. The green beans were at the right degree of snapness, and the egg poached to perfection. A little too much dressing for my taste. Their desserts are always good value (apart from being yummy) and the... More

we had a good meal there tonight, the oysters were absolutely sensational, but some of our mains were let down by the fact that they served a different fish and salad to the meal on the menu. How difficult is it to print another menu if they don't have the fish? I mean we're talking about 10 or 12 sheets... More

This divine place in Launceston really is a treasure. The view, the menu and the service are world class. We started our meal with Oysters Kilpatrick, a glass of rose bubbly for her, a light James Boags for him. Premium fish was Pink Ling for her with Salt and pepper calamari and winter greens for the master, accompanied by sides... More

Ordered the tasting plate for an entree and it was divine- everything was morish and flavoured excellently. The pan seared scallops are a must, so much flavour in just one small bite. Not just excellent food, but wonderful service, and the wine menu was fantastic. Would highly recommend.

Tasmanian scollops and crayfish are the best, well presented seafood one could want. Add well priced Tasmanian wines and the experience is first class
