Deserves to be Popular

Four of us were warmly welcomed, however it took a little while to arrange drinks, The staff did assist with our drink choices. Our friends had the chowder and thoroughly enjoyed it and my partner and I had fish and chips which was equally satisfying. Overall a pleasurable experience

I've just had dinner here ,after a long time since my last visit. I phoned mid afternoon to book our table. I love Tasmanian seafood and look forwards to finding a restaurant who features Tasmanian Fare. Well , I was blown away with my dinner. Superb.

After a long walk along and beyond nearby Cataract Gorge, we were hungry, and Hallam's is right there, literally where the South Esk - well - disgorges. It's a bright and, when we visited, buzzy place, with the feel and some of the decor of a rowing clubhouse. Two walls are essentially glass, so by day there are river views.... More

The lunch special of Asian style calamari and tempura fish at $39 was good value. Add an atmospheric boat place with estuarine views sets a good scene for an enjoyable time. Quality wines for typically $40-60 and representing a good cross section of Tasmania's best. Wherever you are staying, this is probably a gentle stroll from your hotel or days... More

Went with my daughter for lunch. Obviously we wanted seafood...one would think for the location that the menu would offer lots of seafood, but we were a bit disappointed. But we had two lunch specials and they were very enjoyable and good value. With my background, the staff should be more cheerful and on the ball. Don't work in hospitality... More

Cute little spot in a shack down by the water. Nice, fresh seafood. Good deals for lunch. Popular for groups, so was a little noisy for a nice couples lunch.

Amazing Food, best steak I've ever eaten, seafood to die for. We were there in June for our wedding anniversary and they saved us a table in front of the open fire. Perfect.

The place is very 'boaty' and feels very cosy (it seems it used to be a home beffore it turned into a restaurant, if I got that right). The food is great and plenty and it has a great variety of seafood dishes, as well as alternatives, e.g. Asian dishes. We had a really good time and I would recommend... More
