Delicious

Really enjoyed the food here. Full of flavour and nice large serving. Staff were attentive and friendly and it had a really good atmosphere. The only thing I could say that wasn't up to scratch was that the food was Luke warm, which was quite disappointing

Visited this cafe / restaurant twice recently. The first time the eye fillet steak was delicious, cooked to perfection with a tasty and decent sized salad. My ricotta gnocchi, which were also delicious, had too much shredded bacon in the cream sauce and, perhaps, a smaller amount of prosciutto or similar may have been a lighter touch. The second time... My wife and I popped in here by chance on a recent trip to Launceston. We were not disappointed. It was an interesting menu, and we chose a filet steak and stuffed chicken breast from the specials board, both cooked to perfection. The steak was tender, and melted in the mouth. The chicken was seasoned to perfection and again cooked... More

Elaia is one of Launceston's longest-running cafes, so they are obviously doing something right. I'd say it is the cakes and the décor, because most other aspects leave something to be desired. On my most recent visit, my friend and I were seated inside, where it really is quite nice. Warm, fun colours with a choice of seating - at... More

Bored staff, slow service, burned omlette, dirty milk jug, passable coffee and overpriced. What's not to love? Just arrived in Launceston and hotel recommended this area for breakfast. Few cafes to chose from but this one seemed lively and spacious. Not sure if others were better but this was the wrong choice. $17 for a burnt omlette (my 2nd choice... More

Four of us had a wonderful pre-Christmas dinner tonight at Elaia Café and vowed to return. The food was done to perfection and nothing was too much trouble for the charming server. Two of the party had the twice cooked pork belly on “smashed potatoes” with apple slaw and house made relish at $29.50, from the specials board. Another ordered,... More

Great location, beautiful menu, all of the seafood offers are amazing. Burgers are great too. Menu is outrageously expensive, expect poor service. Went today and waited 45 minutes for a simple Caesar Salad, table was not serviced with water during the long wait. Salad was $25! Very poor, but lucky the food was good. Judge for yourself but expect poor... More
