Great Restaurant

Ate at the Prickly Cactus in a large group last week. The food was very reasonably priced, and had a large selection of dishes to choose from. The service was great too. Would recommend eating here when in Launceston.

There are a few sacrilegious things in life: not offering your seat to an old lady on a train, farting in elevators, speaking ill of Elvis Presley, you get my drift. But sweet chilli sauce in a mexican restaurant!?! FAIL!!!! Bland, phoned-in and uncreative (and I'm holding back here) our burritos were 'burnt' and the chimichunga was soaked in oil.... More

Being a Mexican fan I was looking forward to what I was told was an excellent experience. However the experience was far from acceptable, particularly with respect to the food quality. I ordered the ribs and they were the toughest most chewy ribs I have ever had. Turning them over I found none of the fat had been trimmed off... More

Have been trying to get into this restaurant for some time now during our trips to Launy for the footy, always seems to be booked out. But at last we got a table , great service, wasn't sure about some menu items and the very helpful waitress helped us out with some choices. We were not disappointed, beautifully cooked and... More

With so many restaurant choices in Launceson, this is not the best. Poor service and the food is very average. Very disappointing. The Mexican style food tasted Kielce it came from a packet not a restaurant.

Just managed to get in before the kitchen closed (at 8pm..) which i was thankful for given the amount of alternatives open. Ended up having the "Prickly Pair" = ribs and prawns which, although the ribs could've been cooked longer, slower and ended up softer, they were incredibly tasty. The salad should be left out but the wedges are fantastic.... More

Our family of 5 dined at the Prickly Cactus on a recent Saturday night. We were lucky enough to be able to walk in without a reservation: it quickly filled up after we arrived. The service was amazing: our waiter was very friendly and spent time explaining the menu to us including drinks for the kids. The food arrived quickly... More

I had a lovely night out at the Prickly cactus, the service was great. The main meal was your average bowl of nachos and the dessert was terrible! I ordered a chocolate mousse which tasted like a packet mix with water. I doubt highly it was made on the premises. Despite the great service I was so disappointed by this... More

It's a very well located spot. The staff are frendly and very helpful only down fall the steak I had wasn't very nice it tasted old. The drinks are cold and the cocktails amazing
