Yummo so glad we chose this restaurant

Past experience with Mexican food has not been good . Here the food was fresh, hot and delicious. The ribs are perfect if you are hungry. Service great. Highly recommend it.

Loved this place ...we were in Launceston for business for 1 week and we ate here 3 times and could not get enough of it ....food was terrific, loved the ribs which were massive and also the fajitas, drinks were great especially my favorite the mega Goldfish bowl frozen Margarita :) and just a great fun relaxed place to spend... My wife and I were walking down George Street and in fact there are many eating places to choose from including pubs etc. However we came across the Prickly Cactus and the menu looked very good as we are fans of Mexican Foods, however when we saw some of the lovely meals being served we were hooked. Greeted and seated... More

Had not been here for several years and three of us were not sure what to expect. All the staff were so friendly & helpful, menu is very good and the specials even better. Started with an entree of mushrooms - full of flavour and beautifully cooked. Two of us had the special chicken quesadilla which was delightful, but J... More

I usually enjoy cheap Mexican restaurants for their cocktails and atmosphere. The food may not be the best but how can you go wrong with cheese, our cream and guacamole?! At prickly cactus quite wrong. The lemon margarita was very weak and watery, I can and have made better chilli con queso myself and the drunken fish was not fresh... More

All of the typical tex-mex dishes you'd expect are here, and are nice enough, but there are some very nice house specials that make this place worth visiting. Strongly recommend the beef Chilli-con-cactus if you like the spice.

We have been to the Prickly Cactus many times - today however seemed to be extra nice. Perhaps because we had not been here for a little while. Service was fast and friendly and the ribs are the best ribs in the southern hemisphere. Highly recommended! Well done to the crew. Coffee is good to finish a lovely meal. GGG-Glebe... More

We (me and dad) had a Mexican soup, an avocado prawn salad and a fish rice at The Prickly Cactus. NIce, efficient service and the food was yummy and reasonably priced. recommended restaurant in Launceston.

Possibly the best Mexican I've had. We've been travelling throughout Tasmania, gone to some pretty 'la di daaa' restaurants, but this was the stand out of all Tassie meals I've had. All male waiters, who were fun, friendly and enjoying their job. The food was amazing!! I had the chicken fajitas and loved them!! High recommended. If I was a... More

Great prawn and avocado salad, really put together well. Great vibe and location. Guacamole had too much cream.
