Amazing service, large servings

I had a lovely night out at the Prickly cactus, the service was great. The main meal was your average bowl of nachos and the dessert was terrible! I ordered a chocolate mousse which tasted like a packet mix with water. I doubt highly it was made on the premises. Despite the great service I was so disappointed by this... More

My partner mentioned Nachoes and i was sold. Hunted down the closest mexican restaurant, The Prickly Cactus, which was nice and central, within walking distance to our hotel. Nachoes as an entree and we were so satsfied. The main didnt disappoint either. By far one of the tastiest mexican restaurants ive ever been to. Cannot recommend enough and will be... More

Past experience with Mexican food has not been good . Here the food was fresh, hot and delicious. The ribs are perfect if you are hungry. Service great. Highly recommend it.

My wife and I were walking down George Street and in fact there are many eating places to choose from including pubs etc. However we came across the Prickly Cactus and the menu looked very good as we are fans of Mexican Foods, however when we saw some of the lovely meals being served we were hooked. Greeted and seated... More

Had not been here for several years and three of us were not sure what to expect. All the staff were so friendly & helpful, menu is very good and the specials even better. Started with an entree of mushrooms - full of flavour and beautifully cooked. Two of us had the special chicken quesadilla which was delightful, but J... More

I usually enjoy cheap Mexican restaurants for their cocktails and atmosphere. The food may not be the best but how can you go wrong with cheese, our cream and guacamole?! At prickly cactus quite wrong. The lemon margarita was very weak and watery, I can and have made better chilli con queso myself and the drunken fish was not fresh... More

All of the typical tex-mex dishes you'd expect are here, and are nice enough, but there are some very nice house specials that make this place worth visiting. Strongly recommend the beef Chilli-con-cactus if you like the spice.
