Certainly one of the best restaurants in Launceston

We were really looking forward to having a good meal and we were not disappointed. It was mid week, so not many people around, that made the atmosphere a little too quiet. Delicious Pork belly as an entree and the Venison as tender as can be. We had a cheeseplatter which came with three delicious... read more

I visited this restaurant with high expectations due to the reputation it has locally. The decor and ambiance present a lovely first impression. The linen table cloths, glassware and cutlery add to the feeling of luxury and class. The menu is interesting and the specials sounded tempting. The wine list is reasonably extensive although there were many wineries that I'd... More

My partner and I were recommended this restaurant by friends who have eaten here before, we were not disappointed! The food was beautifully prepared with care and thought and the produce was fresh and even better locally sourced! The flavours were incredible!! The venison was cooked to perfection, rare and extremely tender, melt in your mouth!! My partners steak was... More

We had heard a lot of really good things about B.S.B, having never been before we made a reservation for a special fine dining night. The setting is very French and intimate, unfortunately we had a table, half in a corner and so close to bar that if someone was paying they would nearly be touching our table. Excellent wine... Exceptional service, food and wine. Without a doubt the best restaurant in Launceston for finer dining. The Degustation menu was amazing. Although a busy Saturday night we weren't waiting too long in between courses and the staff were very attentive especially when we wanted drinks. Bravo Brisbane Street Bistro.

Bistro? Not really, it`s more like a up-scale fine dinning restaurant with excellent food, wine and service! We were so astonished with the menu and as we couldn`t decide on the starters in the first place, we decided to take all the 7 appetizers and entrees and sharing them. Warm mushroom salad, crispy pork belly, tomato tart, white rabbit, beetroot... More

We ate here for dinner. The restaraunt is located in an attractive 19th century terrace house. We had a very enjoyable, well presented meal with good quality, fairly priced wine. I would definitely recommend the Brisbane Street Bistro for fine dining with only one qualification;the senior member of serving staff was not particularly welcoming or attentive and to some extent let the house... We have always found this retaurant of an excellent standard with food prepared with such care that the flavours are well balanced and the portion sizes are just right, giving you more than just a huge plate with a small decoration called food in the middle. The waitpersons are friendly, efficient and have a good knowlege of the menu as... More

Came across this restaurant which drew our attention as we were walking round the area as it looked like a house. It was advertising its awards outside so we walked in and found a delightful restaurant with a very friendly, welcoming proprietor who served the meals. We didn't like the crispy pork we ordered as a starter as it was... More

Recent outing to this restaurant revealed food no better that what can be expected at other similarly priced venues. We asked for a bottle of Unwooded Chardonnay, only to be told that they don't stock it. We then ordered a bottle of a locally supplied Pinot Griggio off their wine list, only to be told they didn't have any. Third... More
