Yum! Yum! Yum!

I took my partner here for his birthday dinner. It was our first time in Tasmania. Everything we had was delicious, the entrée quail, entrée crispy pork belly, main lamb shoulder, main beef cheek and shared crème brulee for dessert. That, and a bottle of Janz came to $202. We were looking for another restaurant down the street and parked outside Brisbane Street Bistro. As we were there we thought we would have a look at the menu. It looked good and was. Great service and wonderful food: Stripy Trumpeter for her and stuffed quail for me along with a couple of great Tassie wines. We finished with a... More

This time we had the degustation menu and were not disappointed. we particularly enjoyed the 'Oxtail-filled Parisian gnocchi, buttered carrot puree and a dark beef consommé' and the contrasting textures of the 'Sautéed local farmed exotic mushrooms, toasted brioche, parmesan custard, & parmesan crackling'. It was a busy night in the restaurant and considering we were one of the last... More

If you are after a special a la cart meal in a cosy place that would be a good choice. It is expensive, but very good. The only negative comment I would make is I would have liked to have some green salad with our main meals. Otherwise it was delicious. It is probably not for every day or end... More

Unfortunately the night began poorly when the reservation (that I had email confirmation of on my phone) was not on the restaurant's list. However, the chef bustled past us and returned a few minutes later with a table and two chairs to accommodate us. As a result we did have to get squeezed into the corner/corridor right near a large... More

This meal was one of the best we had during our 2 weeks in Tasmania. I had the fish of the day and my husband had the lamb. Perfectly cooked. The amuse bouche of bread roll and chestnut soup was delicious. The cheese platter was very good too.

Fantastic food. We had degustation menu a little while ago and loved all of it. Very happy with the service and the menu choices. Great Tasmanian food.

Partner and myself enjoyed degustation meal option. Restaurant was full, good sign on a rainy Tuesday night. Every course was extremely tasty, well presented and sufficient portion size. Service staff were polite, friendly and unobtrusively attentive. Wine list offers several enjoyable options, including some beautiful Tasmanian wines. You can opt for wines to match degustation if desired. Overall an enjoyable... More

We were staying nearby and took a chance on getting a table. It was so worth it and we enjoyed a wonderful meal and would highly recommend it.
