Very good quality food and wine in pleasant surroundings.

We have always found this retaurant of an excellent standard with food prepared with such care that the flavours are well balanced and the portion sizes are just right, giving you more than just a huge plate with a small decoration called food in the middle. The waitpersons are friendly, efficient and have a good knowlege of the menu as... More

Came across this restaurant which drew our attention as we were walking round the area as it looked like a house. It was advertising its awards outside so we walked in and found a delightful restaurant with a very friendly, welcoming proprietor who served the meals. We didn't like the crispy pork we ordered as a starter as it was... More

Recent outing to this restaurant revealed food no better that what can be expected at other similarly priced venues. We asked for a bottle of Unwooded Chardonnay, only to be told that they don't stock it. We then ordered a bottle of a locally supplied Pinot Griggio off their wine list, only to be told they didn't have any. Third... More

BSB has always been our favourite Launceston restaurant. However, having visited on a quiet weekday night this month we had a very disappointing experience - at least one component of every course was burnt! We had the porkbelly hoisin wrap (a previous favourite) but the crackling was very very salty and burnt leaving a horrible aftertaste. For main course I... More

We did not have a reservation but were welcomed in. We arrived at about 8.00 pm ( late for Launceston:-)) but were accomodated graciously. The meal was superb, the desserts decadent. Fine dining, and while it is on the expensive sife,it is an experience worth saving up for. Miriam, who served us ,was delightful. Says it all- I made a... More

We were recommended by our hotel but also looked on Trip Advisor before booking. The food was good and the place was full which is also a good recommendation. It is quite formal for a bistro. Service was generally good although a side order was forgotten and we had to ask for it. We would have liked to be able... More

It was 6:15pm on a Saturday night and after contacting 4 restaurants to dine at as a family of 5 we were excited to find out Brisbane Street Bistro was able to accommodate us. Upon arrival we quickly realized it is not typically a family friendly restaurant. I commend the wait staff for welcoming us in and treating us no... More

Service was attentive but not obtrusive the food was devine and the wine selection was great. Staff were exceptional and places in Sydney could learn from them in terms of service and knowledge of the produce so whomever picked the staff, job well done, the older lady was very warm and welcoming, hats off to her as this is not...
