This was our third choice after a last minute decision to stay in Launceston on the Saturday before Christmas. After hearing repeatedly, "sorry fully booked" we were happy to be squeezed in at the last minute. Squeezed in being the operable word - a tiny table more suitable for two and tucked into the corner, making it difficult for wait... More

We dined here two nights ago. We have done a number of degustations in Australia and this ranks up there with the best. Bilsons (at the Radisson in Sydney - gone now) is our benchmark and Brisbane Street Bistro is biting at its heels in terms of quality and service. Both memorable meals. We think the wine matching at the... More

We were there for a business function, there were 21 of us, and the way the table was set up was very squashed, making it almost impossible for the wait staff member (yes only one for the most part) to get through to one side of the table. The waitress was more intent on getting us drinks than taking our... More

The food is superb and the wine list offers a large selection of outstanding Tasmanian wines. We were impressed with the menu choices and the ingredients used to create really interesting flavour combinations. Service was smooth and attentive. We were there on a Tuesday night and every table was occupied, so I would recommend booking in advance.

I have been eating here and at Terry's other places ie Quiglys over the years and his food is always consistent and delicious. They use only seasonal local produce and the dishes are inventive but not over the top. Their drive is on flavour , simplicity and combinations there of . The staff are efficient, friendly and knowledgeable . The... More

This was a wonderful night of 'real food' and excellent service which was professional and unobtrusive. Terry continues to serve sensational dishes! We had difficulty in choosing from the set menu on offer last night - so many temptations. There was no compromise on variety of dishes and our vegetarian daughter was thrilled with the warm mushroom salad for entre... More

I came in with my partner to celebrate and anniversary. We were amazed by our entrees, the pork belly and gnocchi are to die for. The mains were some what disappointing in comparison though. Would definitely come back!

A group of 6 visited for dinner in October 2014. We went back to the Brisbane St Bistro for dinner as a group of 6. We were placed in room at the back on our own. It was lovely to be seated around a big table and to be able to share. Lovely and quiet as we had 2 people... More

Had dinner at Brisbane Street Bistro with my partner on a Wednesday night. I straight away loved the dining room, it's decorated so nicely and had a beautiful ambience. We were both impressed with the wine list, a large variety to choose from. I think the highlight of the evening was the entree - had the beef shin gnocchi and... More

Amazing food, great service! The waiter (just one) is so good. I wish I knew how to tip for service and food when I dont have cash and now days we can only use pin for credit card!
