In all honesty we were heading to another Indian restaurant in Launceston but that was closed on Monday so we choose second best AAJ Indian. Firstly it is a huge dining area so you want to see some people in there especially if the other restaurant is closed only one table when we walked in. Service was good waiter couldn't... More

We went to this restaurant as had read the great reviews on here. When my husband got his "entree" served it did not appear to be what he ordered and he and I swapped to then have the waiter come back and advise that they had mucked up and brought him his main first not his entree. He asked the... More

Huge restaurant with loud jazz music, but the waiter turned down the volume when we asked him to. Seemed popular with locals and looked like in India from the interiour. We didn`t think the food was authentic or especially good, but it wasn`t terrible either. We did like the J&J Sauv Blanc for 32$, we were missing some spoons for... More

Visited on a quiet Tuesday evening. Just three of us who wanted a quiet chat so asked to sit by the window away from the large group in the middle of the very large dining area. The waiters made it very clear they were not at all happy about this, not sure exactly why. Orders were taken and the food... More

My husband an l, on out last night in Tasmania, 9th Mar 2014, stumbled across this Indian restaurant. The decore' and furnishings got my attention. We arrived to the greeting smile of the waiter. We had good seats and a large size table to fit all our meals. All courses were fantastic, flavoursome and plentiful. Cold water on arrival and... More

OK, first Indian meal for a while. I had onion bhagis, so delicious, best in years. Then had mixed dishes with family, highlight for me was the Dahl - even my non-veg family tried this and loved it. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Service was great and food was wonderful!

A group of us had an excellent meal on 18 Feb 2014. We shared the main courses which were Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Lababdar, Lamb Pasanda, Lamb Karachi, Paneer Masala and Aloo Palak. As well we had saffron rice and garlic naan. We recommend them all. The restaurant is licensed.

This was recommended to us by relative who live in Exeter just outside of Launceston and i must say we were not disappointed. We were greeted warmly and with smiles, shown to our seats and were able to browse through the menu with help from the waitress in selecting some real tasty delights. Coming from the UK and having lived... More
