We went for lunch and was given a seat outside in the deck. We had an unobstructed view of the vineyards under a clear blue sky. The sun was on my back and it was a bit hot but the view was worth it. There was unlimited spakling water which was great. The wine is also excellent. Each food on... More

We had always intended to visit the winery on our last day, it was only at lunch the day before that we decided to try and book in for lunch at Josef Chromy as well. Their online booking system wasn't playing nice initially and I reverted to old-school booking via phone and got the voicemail, so I decided to give... More

Went to this winery/cellar door on the way to the airport the day we Rassie. What a way to finish of great holiday. Quality wines, magificent food and a beautifully location - all literally a few minutes from the CBD. Restaurant was very, very busy but couldn't fault the service or quality of food. Will defiantly be back next time... More

We have visited th is winery and restaurant a few times mostly on a Sunday afternoon. We order a couple of meat and cheese platters and carafe of wine and move to a table under the beautiful shady trees outside. A glorious way to spend a couple of hours overlooking the lake enjoying the best Tasmanian wine and food. And... More

Arrived at Launceston airport and went straight to Josef Chromy's for lunch. Beautiful day, fabulous gardens and lake, even a train chugged by in the distance to add its touch of out of the ordinary. And pout of the ordinary was the food (my 5Grain salad was extraordinary) and the wines. oh the wines, Pinto grigio and a glass of... More

Josef Chromy Restaurant is a new favorite of ours. We recently fell in love with their wines and decided to pay a visit to their cellar door before we left Tasmania - so glad we did! We started out doing a tasting of all of their wines (bought a few to send home) then, at the suggestion of the young... More

It always is a risk when visiting a restaurant after reading positive reviews. Overall, this restaurant did not live up to our expectations. The setting was beautiful and we had an outside table overlooking the vines. Staff members were friendly and eager to please. However, food portions were small and the menu was misleading in the case of the items... More

We came here just missed lunch so we ordered a meat and cheese platter. I asked the staff what cheese do they serve for the meat and cheese platter and got mistaken as ordering the trio of cheese platter. When I told the staff that she has mistaken the order, she couldn't care less and got into a defensive mode.... More

We were on our way to the ferry back to the mainland after 4 weeks camping and googled for a lunch spot - what a happy discovery! We were welcomed into the spacious and well appointed dining room by very relaxed but very professional staff who made us very welcome, and were clearly both knowledgable and proud of their menu...
