we were pleasantly surprised at the updated restaurant, just walking in through the gardens, the lake, vineyards & setting prepares you for what's just around the corner, it was our second visit so we were familiar with the wines. It was a glorious day so we had to sit outside. We began with the watermelon, prosciutto with light feta, oh... More

Nice tasting... But some of the wines tried seemed young. Best was the Sauvignon Blanc and the Ruby Pinot. Pinot Gris not bad either. Food at the Chromy winery was very good, worthy of a winery. Nice areas to sit around and relax, drink their wines, just enjoy the scenery. Feels like a resort experience.

The setting is absolutely beautiful and the food is excellent. There can't be too many better ways to spend a Saturday lunch than looking out of the huge windows at beautiful vineyards, the lake and lovely gardens, drinking good wine and eating great food. The prices are not cheap but the food is exciting and delicious. Loved it all but... More

Lovely setting, good service but the food was very average. Especially for the price! Who serves pork belly with out a crispy crackling?

We just landed in Launceston and was fortunate enough to book a table for 2 outside to experience a gorgeous lunch amongst the vines on Boxing Day. We had the wallaby starter, pork belly mains paired with their Pinot Gris & Riesling followed by the pavlova dessert and their pinot noir dessert wine. All meals were well presented and tasted... Great wines guaranteed from the lovely vineyard the restaurant overlooks. Some inventive dishes including wallaby and local cheeses and oysters to showcase the area's produce. A great start to a driving trip of Tassie

I have been waiting for months to travel to Tasmania to try this restaurant! It's picturesque, beautiful set-up, and earthy tones. The wine was - as expected - exquisite. The food was also delicious! Oysters were fresh, fish was yum. My husband got the steak which was perfectly cooked. Would return in a heartbeat!

Went for a Christmas function where they served the gourmet BBQ. Most food excellent but my partner (who loves and was looking forward to pork belly) couldn't have it as it had nuts all over and he is allergic. Bread also had nuts in it. Wide range of desserts but only one (fruit salad which was 4 berries and a... More

This restaurant is undoubtedly one of the best in Launceston. The food is brilliantly and creatively prepared and has never disappointed (and the desserts are simply to die for!) The wine varies from the palatable Pepik range to the truly beautiful and more expensive of the Josef Chromy labels. The restaurant is situated in a beautiful environment and sitting outside... The setting was wonderful, the staff attentive without being intrusive, the wine was delightful and the food delicious and beautifully presented...put all that together and you have a trull memorable meal. On the recommendation of family we stopped off at Josef Chromy after arriving at the airport from Sydney and on our way to our accommodation in Launceston............and we are so... More
