One endeavours to support local restaurants and in return receive value and service. On a Sunday we went to theJosef Chromy cafe for a late lunch. We ordered a bottle of sparkling water,a bottle of Pinot Gris and 2 chicken mains. The wine was poured without a choice to sample it and we were left to pour it for the remainder of... More

Came here as we were curious about the winery. There's plenty of parking on the site and as soon as we walked through the door we were greeted by friendly staff. Tastings are free if you buy a bottle otherwise there is a small charge. We didn't dine in the restaurant but we were encouraged to have a walk through.... More

The staff were friendly and helped us eagerly with the menu and choice of wine. The Chardonnay with my lamb stew went well. They were professional when we complained about the flour of the pizza and this was not charged. The ambience was increased by the superb view of the lake and vine yards. Can go again

This restaurant was recently noted as one of the best and 'hottest' in Tasmania and I agree. Location is superb with views across the vineyards from full glass windows. The decor inside is elegant, very modern and far away from the colonial exterior but it does not clash. The menu was not extensive and that pleased us as the offerings... More

Seriously folks....Tassie punches well above it's weight in terms of the number of quality food and wine venue's. JC's is no exception! A beautiful estate (do take the short stroll around the lake), stunning gardens (a must for seating during summer) and a well thought out, well presented Cellar Door and Restaurant. We've had several great meals here and it's... More

We have had several meals at Josef Chromy. Eating outdoors on a warm spring, summer or autumn day is very pleasant. The larger indoor area that is at the restaurant now is excellent and we have attended a couple of movie evenings there last year, a variation to a very pleasant meal that we really enjoyed.

Absolutely amazing food, very creative menu and good size servings! Amazing wine also! Every single person at our table of 12 loved their entree and main. Very high quality and beautiful location. Highly recommended!

The food was magnificent, really imaginative. The staff were so helpful and friendly, suggesting wines which would match the food. One of our best dining experiences in a long time - lots of 'Yums'!
