Fantastic Food and Wine

I attended a lunch on Saturday for a friends 30th birthday. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great and the view outside was spectacular. I found the service to start was quite slow but got better by the end however the staff were super friendly and professional. The food was amazing, we had no... read more

We stopped in for lunch on the way to Bridport and had a wonderful experience. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was amazing. We had three courses and each course was delicious and interesting. The use of fresh produce was a standout - herbs, fennel, apple, fresh peas. We both chose the lamb for main and it was... More

We were very fortunate to be guests at an Easter Wedding at Josef Chromy Winery. It was a beautiful setting with lovely gardens and views. The wines were stunning - my favourite was the Pinot Noir. The selection of food was stunning and I can only think that if they can do this standard for 100 wedding guests then their... More

To save embarrassment they should advertise that lunch pre booking was advisable. Went to have lunch, but we're not keen to serve lunch for 2 adults and 2 kids. Disappointing. So we went to LEANING CHURCH VINEYARD where had awesome lunch with local super fresh scotch fillet steaks and bought box of Pinot Noir 2013 (amazing wine and free freight... More

Lunch on Good Friday was very enjoyable. Looking out over vineyards and farms to the mountains it would be hard to top the views from the restaurant. The menu is not large but is varied and should suit all tastes. The quality of the meals and the service were excellent. Yes, it's a little on the expensive side but you... More

We had the most delicious lunch overlooking this lovely vineyard. A very picturesque setting. Staff were most accommodating of our little one.

This is the second time we have been to this vineyard restaurant as visitors from New Zealand and it never fails to disappoint. Great wine, wonderful food and menu choices, attentive service and well priced. On our next trip back to Tasmania, we shall return.

Having been a Tasmanian local for over 25 years, it took another 5 years after leaving the state to finally dine at Josef Chromy. Having perused the menu before arriving, I had a certain expectation of the pricing and menu items. Whilst the menu is not extensive, the quality of the dishes presented at our table was amazing. Our waitress... More

Great place to sit and have a cuppa but paying way too much for a 'large' coffee which was smaller than a small one in a normal coffee shop! Think they need to adjust the prices to reflect the product.

we were pleasantly surprised at the updated restaurant, just walking in through the gardens, the lake, vineyards & setting prepares you for what's just around the corner, it was our second visit so we were familiar with the wines. It was a glorious day so we had to sit outside. We began with the watermelon, prosciutto with light feta, oh... More
