The setting was wonderful, the staff attentive without being intrusive, the wine was delightful and the food delicious and beautifully presented...put all that together and you have a trull memorable meal. On the recommendation of family we stopped off at Josef Chromy after arriving at the airport from Sydney and on our way to our accommodation in Launceston............and we are so... More

Wines from the prize winning winery a must, freshly shucked St Hellenes oysters delicious!!! Tasmanian grown meats cooked to perfection, locally caught fish mouth watering. Service was excellent led by Thomas Restaurant Manager(French origin) Ambience was buzzing! restaurant layout spacious and personal presentation top notch.. We've been coming here annually for our Christmas lunch and this will be the last time the 10 of us eat here. It was a shambles from the moment we arrived. No water, half an hour til drinks were delivered, over priced menu, small servings, we had to ask for cutlery while our food was getting cold it took them... More

We had walnut bread and mixed local Tasmanian oysters to start - one of the best we ever tried!; wagyu steak and line caught fish of the day for mains - great stuff including all condiments and sides. For desert flower&chocolate and spiced pear&gingerbread - both delicious. Overall great fresh produced with simply right preparation. Great and friendly staff -... More

Lovely venue set in scenic surroundings. Very obliging and pleasant staff. I had a steak which was cooked perfectly and my husband had pork belly which was mouth watering. Prices not too over the top for a winery.

I bought my family here for my Dads birthday which fell on the same day as one of their bridal exhibitions but this didn't present a problem in terms of service or quality. The staff are fantastic, very knowledgable and professional. The menu wasn't huge but presented a good variety and therefore everyone was catered to. Out of the wines... More

My family and I had a wonderful lunch experience at Josef Chromy's Café and Winery last Sunday. Stunning scenery, great food and attentive staff. Much better than the experience we had there earlier in the year. The Josef Chromy Pinot Gris was amazing and went well with the spring chicken I ordered. Everyone in our group was extremely happy with... More

After tasting the wine during a dinner at a local hotel I was so impressed with the taste and flavor, as we're my friends that we all agreed that we needed to visit the winery. The venue was fabulous, the food Devine and the wine tasting was more than expected. It will be so nice to get my carton of... More

Having been a year since my last visit, I was looking forward to seeing if the the rather bland menu choices had been improved. Disappointingly, they had not. This restaurant chooses to stick with chicken, fish, beef and pork staples. They used to have a daily special at least, but nothing on offer this visit. Opted for a Risotto Entree... More

Last month was the second time we have visited Joseph chromy's winery whilst staying with friends in Launceston and I can tell you it's a must. The view and surroundings are absolutely amazing and sitting inside or out you feel like you're in paradise. The wine is to die for and very easy to buy even if you don't live... More
