Service good. Meal of good standard. Total price for one steak item is not listed so you can inadvertently pay more for this very expensive dish when cost per 100 grams is embedded in the text.

The smaller restaurant provides a warm cosy atmosphere with a modern edge. You don't feel 'lost' in the restaurant. You certainly feel able to sit back, relax, enjoy the meal and the company you are with. The menu offers a choice of upmarket food, but doesn't have you reaching for your dictionary. A good wine selection ads to the range... More

I had a scotch fillet and it was perfectly cooked. Great taste. Had some additional veges which were also good. Really good meal. A bit pricey but worth a visit.

Bookings are essential for good reason; this bistro is very popular and for good reason. Great steak only needs simple treatment and the chef has great skill to do the right thing, add a few delicious sauces as options and let quality speak for itself. Main dishes are typically $40-50 pp covering a variety of styles and cuts of meat.... More

A great restaurant for a special occasion. All three courses tonight were exceptional (the calamari, the rib eye and the quince & apple crumble). The steak was cooked to perfection and the accompanying pepper sauce the best I've ever had. The wait staff were brilliant too and very familiar with the menu and wine list. Have been waiting to try... More

This has to be the place in town to go to for steak. Beautiful piece of meat. Paying a premium for the quality but worth it. Service is good, but I had a few issues with reservations so that could be better. I based my review based on the food which is worth 5 stars. There are a range of... More

You won't find a better steak in Launceston. Can be matched with some good in house reds. You pay for premium beef though. A bit too expensive to eat regularly. Black Cow have a good name in Launceston but they need to be careful- there are many other restaurants in the city delivering good red meat at a lesser price.

Cute bistro but to many seats for size of building. Feel jammed in. Steaks etc very good but side vegetables a bit hit and miss and over priced. Overall ok but most likely will not return.

This is a lovely little restaurant, but has some improvements to make. The good: - the food is delicious - he building they are in, and atmosphere, is wonderful The bad: - the wait staff, though friendly, are uncertain and inexperienced. They spend much of the night standing in the bar chatting to each other. Sometimes because there was not... More

Sincere apologies for the lack of response to your empty glass from our team, not a good result for anyone particularly with a beautiful dish needing that perfect wine to accompany! I know the team works hard to ensure everyone is taken care of and are usually a totally professional crew so I apologise on their behalf for letting the... More
